Principal photography for the season has been completed and it is currently in post-production.

It has been more than a year since the first season of Tokyo Vice, a crime drama TV series based on the book of the same name by Jake Adelstein, ended.

The show received an exceptionally warm reception from critics and fans alike, leading to its renewal for another season shortly thereafter.

But while production on season 2 began back in November 2022, almost no updates on the show have been released since, and with the ongoing Hollywood strikes, fans were quite concerned about the series' fate.

Fortunately, according to Variety, the second season of the show is currently in post-production, as the creators managed to finish filming just before the strikes.

However, this doesn't mean that it will be released anytime soon, as producer Alex Boden stated that post-production for the show is quite lengthy.

He hopes that the season will be released after the strikes are over so that the cast can participate in promoting it, as it would be a shame not to be able to celebrate the dedication of everyone involved.

Boden also mentioned that there is a chance that Tokyo Vice will get more seasons, although it depends on the success of season 2.

Fans are relieved that the show hasn't been quietly canceled amidst all the drama and hope that season 2 will maintain the bar of quality set by its predecessor.

Considering that season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, they can't wait to see what the creators have in store for them with the long-awaited next chapter of the story.

Although it may be a while before Tokyo Vice season 2 sees the light of day, this is undoubtedly great news as it means that it will now definitely not be affected by the ongoing strikes.

Since no significant progress has been made in the negotiations so far, it is unclear when they will end.

While the exact date for Tokyo Vice season 2 hasn't been announced, it's expected sometime in 2024.
