The actor, who is now set to return to his Harry Potter role on Broadway, hopes to see a special co-star cheering for him from the audience.

Tom Felton might be getting ready to reprise Draco Malfoy’s role with all seriousness, but he would still be smitten if a famous co-star showed him support from the Broadway theatre’s first row.

More than a decade after appearing in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows— Part 2, the actor was confirmed to take on Draco’s role again in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, a sequel play that has been a part of Broadway’s agenda for the past several years.

Now that everyone, including Felton, had some time to recover from the initial shock, the actor shared some sweet comments on how his Harry Potter co-stars reacted to the news — and who he’d love to see in the first row for “The Cursed Child”.

Tom Felton Says No One Knew About His Broadway Debut Because He “Couldn’t Tell Anyone”

It’s fair to say the actor was in talks for reprising his most iconic role for quite some time before the news was shared by outlets, so everyone from Harry Potter cast was just as shocked as the rest of the world when Felton was announced as, well, the same old Draco for the Broadway play.

As the actor revealed recently, he received tons of texts from his colleagues upon the announcement, adding that he “couldn’t tell anyone” about his involvement earlier because he “was sworn to secrecy”.

Felton also said that the news even turned into some kind of an inside joke, specifically for one cast member that blew up his phone the most.

“I think Matthew Lewis took the mickey the most, that I’m too old for it now and whatnot. But everyone, everyone’s very excited and supportive, and I’m sure I can drag as many of the Potter cast here for the first week as I can”, Felton told MTV recently, referring to his co-star who portrayed Neville Longbottom throughout the original movie franchise.

Tom Felton Is Convinced Emma Watson Would Make Him “Break the Character”

It’s no secret for Harry Potter fans that, despite clashing on the screen, Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger’s actors were quite close in real life, at some point even sparking dating rumours.

These were never confirmed in the end, but the two stayed in touch after the franchise wrapped, so Felton really hopes to see Emma Watson visiting him on Broadway for one of the shows.

“I mean I want to see everyone, obviously. I think any of the Potter lot would probably throw me off. I imagine Emma smiling at me would make me break character”, the actor said.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” starring Tom Felton is now set to run from November 11 to May 10, 2026 at the Lyric Theatre on Broadway.
