The next Bondiana movie directed by Denis Villeneuve will likely have a much younger Bond than we expected, and so far the options aren’t looking good. Here’s what James Bond’s fans are complaining about even before the film’s announcement.
Bondiana’s fans rooting for Henry Cavill or Aaron Taylor-Johnson to take on the legendary spy’s role might not be having the best times after a major rumour about Amazon’s picks for the next movie.
Things first started falling apart after Bondiana’s longtime producer Barbara Broccoli stepped down and Amazon MGM took over the creative rights; it all got a bit more positive when Dune’s Denis Villeneuve was confirmed as the director of Bondiana’s future 26th movie.
However, fans got a reason for worrying once again when Amazon unveiled its top choices for the film’s leading roles — and for some it’s nothing but a Disney channel casting.

No, James Bond fans weren’t tripping when the news first came around, suggesting that Amazon has now decided it’s time to move on from the middle-aged iconic spy.
According to Variety’s report published several weeks ago, the company is now aiming at reinventing the story with much younger leads, at the moment strongly considering Tom Holland, Jacob Elordi, and Harris Dickinson for James Bond’s role.
In fact, Amazon doesn’t even appear to be bothered by the fact that Jacob Elordi is Australian, though it wasn’t a major problem before either — the actor’s fellow Australian George Lazenby also starred in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
As for Bond’s girl, some more recent reports point out Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney as the most probable candidate right now, plus she is reportedly good friends with Denis Villeneuve.

Even though Amazon is making clear attempts to make Bondiana more appealing to younger generations, it seems like the franchise might be one of few movie series that fans really want to keep its own pace.

“Granted, Sydney is my celeb crush, I must admit, but even I can see that this would be kinda awkward, especially if they cast an actor that wouldn't play a convincing Bond. Some people commented Tom Holland, but that would be some Disney Channel type of casting...”, cfalcon279 added.
