The reason is quite unexpected but very respectable.

Every actor dreams of the level of recognition that the Marvel actors have. Tom Holland, the youngest and perhaps the most popular among younger audiences, has never been an exception.

Today, however, he has some doubts about which performance might have given him the most fame.

Of course, everyone knows and loves him as Spider-Man, but there is another performance circulating around the Internet that haunts the actor to this day: his Lip Sync Battle performance to the mashup of Singing In The Rain and Umbrella.

Of course, back in 2017, this performance blew up the media and sparked a lot of discussion.

While one side of the newly rebooted Spider-Man fandom was all for it, others, including some conservative parents, were worried about what message a Spider-Man dressed in fishnets and high heels would send to their children.

Fortunately, Tom Holland himself never doubted the decision:

“I’ve grown up in the most non-toxic-masculine environment possible. I didn’t realize what I was doing was so forward-thinking. I was just like, ‘Yeah, f#ck it, I’ll put some fishnets on and dance in the rain. That’ll be really fun. I don’t care,’” the actor admitted in his latest The Hollywood Reporter interview.

However, you won't see Holland doing anything like that in the near future. While the actor has no problem dancing, singing, or wearing revealing outfits, he just doesn't seem to find the appeal in such performances anymore.

The fact that after all these years and many more interesting roles and projects people still recognize this performance more, does not help a great deal too. In his own words, Tom Holland would much rather "live his little private life" these days, and that's a choice to be respected!
