Tommy’s Strongest Ally in Landman S1 Might Also Be His Biggest Rival in Season 2
The next season is about to reveal all the dark thoughts the characters have about each other.
A Paramount+ big hit, Taylor Sheridan ’s Western-y show Landman wrapped its first season up, leaving the fans pretty concerned about what’s in store for the story in a potential next instalment.
The finale’s plot twists have had many of them reassured that Kayla Wallace’s Rebecca Falcone isn’t the one to trust after her sudden change of mind regarding the consequences of oil fracking. Surprisingly, that probably wasn’t even the limit for the character who, despite everyone’s saying, initially came as the biggest help for Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris.
Rebecca Proved Herself a Worthy Ally for Tommy in Season 1
Introduced as a lawyer embarking on an investigation of the deadly explosion, Rebecca didn’t start things off right with Tommy in the very beginning, yet she might have done her best trying to persuade him that she was on his side as another representative of his company.
Despite her attempts, Tommy has long denied Rebecca’s ability to actually bring him and his business some profit, until the former demonstrates her ability for negotiation and dealing with complicated cases like the one with a crashed plane that she resolved in the first season’s episode 4.

Eventually Rebecca does succeed in making an impression, leading to Tommy starting to consider her one of his team, yet this all might head into the wrong direction in the next season.
Landman’s Season 1 Has Already Paved the Way for Rebecca and Tommy’s Conflicts
Ironically, Rebecca’s skills most appreciated by Tommy can easily turn against the latter and his company. By being a harsh and insistent lawyer, Rebecca also proved that she has no limits when it comes to what she wants, which she’ll eventually get one way or another.
Additionally, the character has been getting into all of M-Tex’s legal battles for long enough to understand how exactly she could potentially manipulate Tommy in case she decided to seize power in the company.
Even the first season’s finale plot twist does come as a bad omen for Tommy who, disagreeing with Rebecca about some moral rules, might add even more tension to their potential feud in the future.
