By now – as the fifth season of Yellowstone has reached its midway point – it has become evident that Jamie Dutton is the type of character that viewers either root for or genuinely believe deserves a sad demise.

Nevertheless, in a TV series that is notorious for producing highly undesirable characters – Jamie also exists among the more likable. For example, a quick detour down the threads of Reddit will reveal countless posts regarding the member of the Dutton family.

These discussions generally revolve around whether Jamie will survive to the end of Yellowstone or if he'll finally get his vengeance on Beth and John. Moreover, some fans think Jamie Dutton is the most likable character on the show whether others like it or not.

They point out that Jamie may have flaws yet that doesn't prevent him from also being endearing. For example, Jamie has consistently defended his family to great lengths over four seasons before finally reaching a breaking point. Now, he's viewed as a traitor for attempting to impeach Governor Dutton while also sabotaging his step-sister, Beth.

Is Jamie Actually a Coward? Yellowstone Fans Don't Think So

Yes, Jamie has self-esteem issues which frequently allow the other members of the Dutton establishment to manipulate or take advantage of him. And, Jamie is also far from innocent when you consider some of his misdeeds like killing an innocent reporter. Despite it, audiences also refer to his upbringing, which was far from ordinary.

Yet it's precisely these qualities that make Jamie the most likable of all the people in the Dutton family.

For starters, it's easy to root for an underdog, particularly one that was adopted and has always had difficulty finding closure with his past. Then, you also have to consider that Jamie is the black sheep of the family which makes him appealing to outsiders.

After all, co-existing in a family is not easy for anyone, even for individuals that generally get along with their kin. Jamie, for that reason, is no different, and people take issue with Jamie getting bullied by the rest of the characters on Yellowstone.

Furthermore, the other individuals on Yellowstone are far from good people. Sure, John may have his charm but is that more the result of Costner or the reputation of his character? Meanwhile, Kayce and Rip are no heroes. Plus, that doesn't even get fans started regarding their disdain for Beth and Monica Dutton.

Consequently, in a show that lacks many distinguished characters, Jamie ranks among the more fascinating, as well as the most supported.
