Yee-haw, we guess.

Cole Hauser, who portrays Rip Wheeler in Taylor Sheridan 's Yellowstone, has revealed that the show is nowhere near the series finale and will continue for at least two more seasons.

"I can tell you there will be [season] 6 and [there] will be a 7th, that's all I can say," Hauser told Entertainment Tonight.

Hauser refused to spill the tea on what fans are to expect in the upcoming two seasons, noting that "it will be a surprise," and he "like[s] to know with the fans."

This comes despite the fandom's growing dissatisfaction with the direction of the story, with some people even calling for the show to end things after season 5. Many people think that the storytelling is too weak to even finish the fifth season properly, let alone dragging the Dutton family drama into two more seasons.

Although there is certainly a way to breathe a new life into the show, according to fans.

"They better make some big changes in the writers room if they want to make it two more seasons…we are treading water here," Redditor Mrs3anw said.

According to others, however, if things remain as they are in the writers' room, then viewers can expect two more seasons of cowboys "doing cowboy [things] with country music scenes," as the show is currently just "burning up minutes because they don't know what they are doing."

Still, if there is a "surprise" waiting for Yellowstone fans, then maybe there is some hope for Paramount's cowboy franchise to return back to its golden days of being "the best show on TV" as fans used to call it.

Currently, season 5 is in its second half, with episode 9 set to premiere at some point in summer 2023, with no specific release date announced by Paramount yet.
