One of the most effective ways to ruin The Walking Dead finale is to drop all sort of spinoff teasers early – and that's exactly what AMC did.

The announcement of The Walking Dead: Dead City spinoff with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), which AMC made some 7 months ago, came out of the blue and raised a lot of questions, with the biggest one being – why drop spoilers in advance?

It also came as a shock for Jeffrey Dean Morgan who played Negan in the series as well. Speaking on The Rick Eisen Show, Morgan said he was quite surprised with the premature announcement, to say the least.

"Now that we've announced that there's going to be a spin-off, I guess we know Negan doesn't die. Spoiler Alert, folks. Sorry! I'm still not sure why we announced that already. It was sort of a shocker to me."

So, when we see Negan facing a firing squad in Season 11 Episode 22 Faith we all know he'll be just fine, there's nothing to worry about, guys. We know that we won't lose the character in the final season. Of course, provided we followed all the TWD news.

The showrunners simply killed the suspense of this crucial moment, doing a huge disservice to Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character arc in final episodes.

But for the folks out there who knew nothing about the AMC announcement the scene did look very intense as Negan's fans (and he's managed to build a fan base since he first appeared in Season 6) should have been really very sad with the way the storyline goes.

TWD Finale Will Make You Scream At Your Television, According to Norman Reedus

The core cast members of the series have recently teased what the actual finale of The Walking Dead will be without any spoilers. Most of the cast focused on the emotional side and the feeling of a true family, which as they say is so inherent of the series.

At the same time Norman Reedus who played Daryl Dixon joked that everyone will die in the last episode. We still doubt it because as we know Dixon will feature in a spinoff taking place in France.

The Walking Dead Delivered a Game-Changing Twist Ahead of the Series Finale

There're six spinoffs in total – Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Tales of the Walking Dead, the Daryl series starring Reedus mentioned above, The Walking Dead: Dead City and the upcoming 2023 TWD Rick and Michonne series.

AMC's The Walking Dead show premiered more than a decade ago and is wrapping up in a week with the last Episode 24 to be aired on November 20.
