8 Best Fantasy Shows About Elves to Binge While Waiting for 'The Rings of Power' Season 3

There aren't many TV shows about elves and fairies, but we've chosen the most worthy ones, ranging from dark thrillers to romantic fantasies.
We most likely won't see the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the most expensive TV series to date, before summer 2026.
If you're already missing elves, fairies, and other magical creatures, though, we've recalled eight projects that will satisfy your craving.
1. 'The Shannara Chronicles', 2016-2017
IMDb Score: 7.1/10
This is a fantasy series about a world inhabited by magical creatures. Rather than countries, the entire planet is divided into four regions: one occupied by humans, one by elves, and two by trolls and dwarves, respectively.
The plot begins with a vision of the Elven Princess Amberle, who believes her homeland will soon be destroyed by demons.
This comes to pass, and she sets off on a dangerous journey through all the Four Lands with the half-breed Wil and the thief Eretria.
2. 'Cursed', 2020
IMDb Score: 6.0/10
The classic story of the Lady of the Lake, King Arthur, and Merlin comes to life in the Netflix series Cursed.
Starring Katherine Langford, the series follows Nimue, a young Fey woman who lives in a fairy tale land but feels like an outsider. Due to a wound inflicted by a demon bear, she is considered "wrong" by other Feys.
After fleeing the clergy who destroyed her home, she grabs a sword and promises her mother that she will deliver it straight to Merlin.
3. 'Carnival Row', 2019-2023
IMDb Score: 7.7/10
The series tells the story of mythical creatures who were forced to flee their war-torn homeland and settle in our world. It quickly becomes clear that many people are not happy about having them as neighbors.
The plot centers on a series of brutal murders that could shake the fragile balance between faeries and humans.
The show is captivating because of its star-studded cast, including Orlando Bloom as a devout police officer and Cara Delevingne as a powerful faerie.
4. 'Lost Girl', 2010-2016
IMDb Score: 7.6/10
The Canadian fantasy series tells the story of Bo, a succubus who knows nothing about her origins. Members of her species feed on human energy, which can result in death.
This is what happens to Bo. However, the blood of Fae still flows in her. One day, they find Bo and force her to choose which side she wants to live on: light or dark.
Bo decides to play her own game and chooses the human world, unaware of the dangers that await her.
5. 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End', 2023-...
IMDb Score: 8.9/10
After ten years of difficult travels, Himmel and his friends achieved victory over the Demon King. For the elven mage Frieren, however, the years flew by in an instant.
When she decided to make up for lost time and visit her friends, many of them were on their deathbeds. The aging of her loved ones was a strong blow to Frieren. She decided to go on a new journey.
Along the way, she hopes to understand what life means to people and find inner peace.
6. 'Fate: The Winx Saga', 2021-2022
IMDb Score: 6.8/10
It was only a matter of time before the popular animated series Winx Club was adapted into a live-action project.
As in the original series, the setting is the Alfea boarding school, and the main characters are fairies named Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Terra, and Musa. Despite their magical powers, they have very human problems.
Additionally, ancient creatures called the Burned Ones want to take over the fairy kingdom, and the girls must stop them.
7. 'Elves', 2021
IMDb Score: 5.6/10
The Svane family decides to change up their holiday routine and celebrate Christmas on the remote, foggy island of Aarmandsø. Upon arrival, they hit a strange creature with their car, setting off a chain of bloody events and uncovering the island's secrets.
Here, elves are not tall people with long ears – they are deceptively cute creatures who seek revenge for having their peace disturbed.
8. 'The Other Kingdom', 2016
IMDb Score: 5.6/10
This is a series about Astral, a fairy princess from Athenia who gives up everything for the sake of her dream: to live among the people she could only secretly observe.
On her fourteenth birthday, she escapes the palace and promises to decide within ninety days whether she prefers life in her homeland with the royal family or life alone among people. She enrolls in a regular school, sending a simple boy in her place.
