Recently, Barry Allen's character has swept spotlight following the Ezra Miller drama and the online campaign to bring Grant Gustin to substitute him in DCEU. Well...

'The Flash ' – one of the longest-running shows on The CW – can come to an end sooner than we expected.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jesse L. Martin, who portrays Joe West, will return for the ninth season, but no longer as a series' regular, and everything points to season 9 being cut short.

It all comes on the heels of the show's writer, Eric Wallace, hinting that season 8 could have been the final one, and Grant Gustin only securing 15 episodes as Scarlet Speedster in his contract with The CW.

So, is the finale near? Are we ready for it?

Looks like we are.

Some people think that the news might be a hint for Gustin's Flash big screen future.

After Ezra Miller, who portrays Flash in the DCEU, has got into some troubles with the law, calls have intensified to replace him with Gustin. The actor himself has never commented on the fans' desires, but now that The CW seems to be eyeing the possibility of wrapping up the show, Grant Gustin could be totally available for the DCEU.
