Walton Goggins Clears His Aimee Lou Wood Feud Rumours: “Friends For F—king Ever”

The White Lotus’ stars caused quite a fuss with all the rumours about their possible feud back in the day. As it turns out, Goggins has always had an explanation which you might have not expected to be that simple.
It’s been months since the media got swirled into a potential drama between The White Lotus’ stars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood, and the former has just clarified what the whole thing was about.
Ahead of the third season’s finale premiere back in April, it was reported that there was some bad blood between the actors who unfollowed each other on Instagram, even though their numerous selfies from set shared in their accounts suggested otherwise.
Things seemingly got worse when Goggins and Wood’s co-star Jason Isaacs chimed in, hinting at several scandals occurring on the show’s set.
Since then, however, all of this died down only to resurface months later when Goggins finally spoke out about the matter, suggesting that this was nothing more than just a weird phase.
Walton Goggins Says He and Aimee Lou Wood “Care About Each Other Very Deeply”
The actors, who were believed to have become besties on The White Lotus’ set, might have in fact done so, since Goggins revealed that nothing ever went wrong between them.
“There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me. This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be … She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply”, the actor said.
The burning question, however, was why Goggins unfollowed Aimee Lou Wood in social media, which was noted and then speculated about by many of the show’s fans who adored the actors’ couple of Rick and Chelsea.
“Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don’t give a shite about Instagram … Eventually I just started to sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing. When I left Justified … I didn’t talk to [Timothy Olyphant] for almost two years. I’ve done that with every single thing that I’ve done”, the actor explained.
Walton Goggins Needed Digital Detox to Process Rick and Chelsea’s Tragic Ending
Goggins and Wood’s on-screen quirky couple quickly became a fan-favourite duo, so no wonder the actors too had to take some time to say goodbye to their characters.
“My catharsis in this experience was different than other people’s, because of my history in this place. I knew what [Wood and I] had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea. And I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, ‘This is what I’ve gotta do.’ And she was extremely supportive about that. I needed to just back away from everyone. I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a fuck what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this”, Goggins stated.
He then added that the phase is gone and he’s returned to, well, follow his co-star on Instagram again.
“[It was] just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f—king ever”, he explained.
