The prospect of the Warrior Nun movie trilogy doesn't look as promising anymore after Simon Barry dropped an absolute bombshell of news that shook Halobearers.

No matter how you look at it, the entire story of Warrior Nun has been a story of success so far. This show (Season 2, specifically) became Netflix 's highest-rated original series ever on Rotten Tomatoes. During its time on the platform, Warrior Nun gained an amazing fan community called Halobearers who absolutely loved it.

Then, for reasons still unknown, the streamer decided to cancel the show — but neither its creator Simon Barry nor Halobearers were willing to give up. After months of hard work, Warrior Nun became the first Netflix show to survive the platform's axing. Not only did the series survive it but it also set out to create a full-blown movie trilogy with a consequent cinematic universe.

Warrior Nun and its community did what was thought borderline impossible, so the cheers of Halobearers were more than deserved. The fans were eagerly awaiting updates about the first of the three planned movies — and then, suddenly, the news arrived. Not the kind of news the community was hoping for, to put it mildly.

As the countdown on the special Warrior Nun website started ticking again, the show's creator Simon Barry hopped on X (formerly Twitter) to make his own announcement.

"FYI – I have no idea what's being announced tomorrow. I am not part of the team producing the movies, and have no deal in place for any writing or directing services. I am [watching] with you," Barry wrote in his post.

This revelation understandably shook fans: the creator of their favorite show and the man who saved it from oblivion apparently won't be involved with the movie trilogy at all! This spells terrible news for the future of Warrior Nun which was largely put together and made into what it is today by Simon Barry and his team.

Whatever this means, it can't be good, so the best hope we have now is that Halobearers work another wonder and make the producers put Barry back in charge.
