Disney +'s latest was heavily influenced by the themes of mysticism and magic, so the fans' belief that Werewolf By Night would appear in 'Moon Knight' didn't seem like a stretch at all.

The 6-episode series, which details the gripping story of Mark Spector's (Oscar Isaac ) struggle with his inner personalities and evil cult leaders, seems a fitting place to introduce one of Marvel's most obscure supernatural characters, Werewolf By Night. As you might have guessed, the character in question turns into a wolf at night, saving human lives. The character was created in 1972, and the hero developed a small but very loyal following during these past 50 years.

But why are Marvel fans waiting for the introduction of this character into the MCU via Moon Knight? The fact is that there's apparently a half-hour Disney+ special coming up for Halloween in which Gael Garcia Bernal will play the role of the aforementioned lycanthrope. Also, a fun fact – Moon Knight originally debuted in 1975 in comic books devoted to that werewolf's adventures. So yeah, come to think of it, the idea of Werewolf By Night appearing in Moon Knight's solo series is not that strange after all.

So why wasn't he in the series? Speaking with Comicbook, Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater revealed the reason for the character's absence, even in a possible post-credits scene.

"There weren't discussions of doing Werewolf by Night per se, just because they had already had some plans for him, and Kevin [Feige] had an idea of how he wanted to use him, which I'm still not privy to. I'm as in the dark as you are," Slater said.

It looks like the rumors of that Bernal-led special have finally been confirmed by someone pretty high up in the Marvel Studios hierarchy. It's very exciting to see Feige introduce little-known characters like Werewolf by Night straight to the big screens, which is sure to cheer fans up and get them all happy about seeing their favorite heroes and villains appearing in the MCU.

Since Werewolf by Night didn't appear in 'Moon Knight', perhaps Marvel will switch cards and make Oscar Isaac's character appear in an upcoming half-hour special starring Bernal? Fans are certainly ready for such a turn of events.
