Their romance began after filming.

Honestly, in the acting world, it’s pretty rare for a romance on set to actually last. Usually, it’s just sparks during filming, and then it’s over once the cameras stop rolling.

But with Fred Armisen and Riki Lindhome from Wednesday, things went completely differently — and honestly, I was so happy to find out that they really got together in real life.

Fred, playing the chaotic and unforgettable Uncle Fester, and Riki, the smart and sharp Dr. Valerie Kinbott, met on the first season’s set. The connection between them wasn’t just a fling — they genuinely fell for each other and got married in June 2022.

I was genuinely thrilled when I learned this because in a show full of gothic vibes, dark humour, and the suspense you’d expect from a Stephen King-inspired prison drama, real life somehow imitated art.

Sadly, Dr. Valerie Kinbott didn’t make it past season one — she was killed by Tyler, so we won’t see her in season two. Uncle Fester, on the other hand, has only grown more central across these episodes.

I think it’s fascinating to watch how his character becomes pivotal in driving the story forward, and it makes me appreciate Fred’s performance even more.

Their characters were total opposites: Fester is wild, eccentric, and unpredictable, while Valerie was grounded, sharp, and thoughtful.

But off-screen, these two actors created something lasting — a love story that grew out of the chaos, just like the series itself blends suspense, hope, and friendship. I was really happy to hear about their relationship — it felt like a little bonus gift from the world of Wednesday.

For fans like me, it’s kind of magical: watching two performers leave their mark on unforgettable characters while also finding each other in real life. Wednesday didn’t just give me a killer series — it gave me a real-life love story too, and I can’t stop smiling thinking about it.
