For a 20-year-old actress, Jenna Ortega's filmography is certainly impressive.

Jenna Ortega has become the talk of the town (or rather, the whole world) and the face of countless magazine covers after the Netflix series Wednesday proved to be a pop culture phenomenon. But her fame was not newly found.

The actress began building her sizable following long before she portrayed a loveable child full of woe when she starred in several popular Disney projects and horror films, including two installments of the Scream franchise.

However, Ortega's acting career is not limited to being a Disney Channel star and taking part in blood-chilling thrillers. This rising star has an astonishing filmography of over 30 titles dating back to 2012.

While still a child actress, Ortega had some odd cameos in early 2010s TV shows, including Rob's episode The Baby Bug, where she was credited simply as "Girl," Iron Man 3, where she played the vice president's daughter, and CSI: NY, where she had a small but memorable role.

In the final season of CSI, then 9-year-old Jenna Ortega starred as a cute little girl with a heartbreaking arc. During an innocent game with her friend, the girl finds a gun in a trash can left behind by a shooter. Naturally, the kids pull out the gun, and in an almost inevitable twist, the girl's friend shoots her. This unfortunate turn of events cost the girl her life and became an important plot device.

Interestingly, Ortega's character is referred to as Aimee DeSilva in the episode, but that name is missing from the episode's credits. Instead, both the credits and IMDb refer to Ortega's character as Aimee Moore, which probably means that the show's crew considered the role too minor to pay attention to the details. Fans, however, were impressed with the girl's tragic storyline.

"This was one of the best episodes we've had in 4 (?!) seasons without a doubt," one of the viewers wrote on IMDb. "That poor innocent kid/Flack trying to save her. [...] Wow, this episode held my attention all the way through."

In one of her interviews, Ortega revealed that the role of Aimee Moore was one of her first, along with the role in Rob. The actress revealed that her first casting agent discovered her on Facebook when she was just nine years old.
