Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us’ former co-star Justin Baldoni has been a never-ending wave of shocking revelations, but things might change (or rather just stop for a while) quite soon.

After months of speculation and guesses, a sequel for Lively’s hit mystery drama A Simple Favor is finally coming to the screens, first premiering at SXSW before eventually landing on streaming.

The upcoming movie so far has only a few plot details, but another major change sure does hint at its storyline’s possible outcome.

Another Simple Favor Is Set to Premiere in March

Released back in 2018, the original movie was a massive hit, provoking numerous talks about a possible sequel shortly after its premiere.

Now the second movie is (almost) finally here since its release has just been announced alongside the official confirmation that the sequel holds a new title Another Simple Favor. The upcoming film will first head to SXSW where it will premiere on March 7 and then will officially land on Prime Video on May 1.

Ahead of Another Simple Favor’s release, both movies’ director Paul Feig shared his excitement about what’s next for the beloved story, saying that he has never been too much into making sequels, but “these characters were just too much fun not to revisit”.

Feig also stated that he’s looking forward to seeing the movie first at SXSW, calling it “a bucket list event”.

A Simple Favor Sequel’s Title Change Might Have Just Confirmed an Exciting Plot Twist

While there’s still around 3 months left before the sequel will finally land on digital platforms, fans can already make some assumptions about the movie’s plot even based on its new title.

Another Simple Favor will see the return of Anna Kendrick's Stephanie Smothers and Blake Lively's Emily Nelson who are now set to travel to the Italian island of Capri where Emily will marry an Italian businessman in a posh wedding ceremony.

The sequel’s changed title hints at new mysterious disappearances and betrayals that will show up at some point during the big celebration, and it’s very likely that Stephanie will have to use her detective-ish skills once again (in case it’s not her who will vanish this time).
