The MCU’s ultimate trickster hasn’t had his final say yet.

Remember the Avengers: Secret Wars reveal with the chairs? Loki, frankly, should’ve had an entire throne. When the God of Mischief literally unraveled the time loop at the end of season two of his series, fans were left wondering: was it the end, a new beginning — or something else entirely? It seems Marvel has chosen the third option: in Secret Wars, Thor’s brother will be the most important piece in this entire chess game.

According to insider Alex Perez, Loki will become the central 'MacGuffin' of the film — the object around which the entire plot revolves. Roughly speaking, in The Lord of the Rings, that was the Ring; in Indiana Jones, it was the artifacts. And here... it’s Hiddleston himself.

"He’ll be our MacGuffin. The race against Secret Wars is a race to reach Loki first," teases Perez.

Apparently, anyone who wants to control the multiverse must first gain control over Loki. After the events of season two, he has become the God of Stories — a being capable of managing the branches of time and realities. And yes, he now sits at the very center of this universal web.

All of this makes the return of Robert Downey Jr. even more intriguing — not as Tony Stark, but as Doctor Doom. Clearly, he’ll be one of those hunting Loki, and now the stakes couldn’t be higher. Let’s not forget: the 'first' Loki fell by Thanos’ hand. This one could become the weapon that ends the entire multiverse... or saves it.
