The iconic Harry Potter film series has remained one of the most popular cinematic franchises of all time.

The fantasy movies created a world of magic, spells, and sorcery that millions of people around the globe fell in love with. For the actors who portrayed the beloved characters, being a part of the films was an equally incredible experience.

So much so that the star of the movie series, Rupert Grint, took something from the set to have as a token to keep alive the memory of those years, and you'll never guess what he stole.

Rupert Grint, who infamously depicted Ron Weasley in the hit movies, entered the world of Harry Potter as a child and grew up alongside his character in full public view.

With the release of the eight blockbuster movies, the series became hugely popular, turning the young actor into a household name. It's been over a decade since the final installment of the series came out, but it's still fascinating to find out some behind-the-scenes details to this day.

Grint himself recently opened up about his acting career and shared a surprising confession in a recent interview with People.

He admitted that he went to great lengths to steal a prop from the set as a memento. And it wasn't just any prop – it was the door number of 4 Privet Drive, the house where the orphaned Harry was brought up, of all things. How did he manage to pull this off? Well, it turns out it wasn't an easy task.

"They were really strict. During the last few days, there was security at the gates, literally searching cars. But I did get away with the door number of Harry's house. I had to unscrew it," he revealed.

He described the act as "shady," but it's understandable that it was hard for him to resist sneaking something after being a part of the films for such a long time.

Funnily enough, this was not the only time Rupert stole something from the set. In fact, he has previously disclosed that he had snatched the golden egg from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and hid it in his pillowcase.

However, he only had it in his possession for about 13 hours before it was tracked down and requested to be returned, as it was worth thousands of dollars.
