What happened to Davina on Selling Sunset? She says she filmed season 7 and ended up in none of it
Davina Potratz was the Oppenheim Group's original villain. By season 7, she wasn't even getting the villain edit.
Davina Potratz was on Selling Sunset from the very first season, and for a while she was one of its main characters. Then her screen time started shrinking, season after season, until she turned up in season 7 as a face in the background. She has since explained what happened, in a series of comments that are blunter than anything the show let her say on camera.
From main cast to background
Davina joined Selling Sunset as a recurring agent in 2019 and was promoted to the main cast for season 2 in May 2020. Her exit started that October, when she left the Oppenheim Group for the new development division at Douglas Elliman.
"It's not that I wanted to leave, but I had a great opportunity."

She called it "a purely business decision" and said she hoped to stay in the cast. She did, for a while, and she eventually went back to the O Group. Here's how her screen time went after that:
- Seasons 4 and 5 (2021–2022): Still part of the show, but less central, especially after her closest friend in the cast, Christine Quinn, left after season 5.
- Season 6 (May 2023): A desk in the office, an appearance at Heather's baby shower and a stop at Emma's open house. A few one-liners, a few seconds of screen time.
- Season 7 (November 2023): One blink-and-you-miss-it background appearance.
- Season 8 (September 2024): Nothing.
By November 2023, the O Group was still listing her as a broker and director of its new development division. She was still working there, and still not on the show about it.
What Davina says happened in season 7
When fans asked about her absence in November 2023, Davina answered on Instagram. Asked if she was still part of the show, she wrote "Not really." She added, "I'm not in S7 much, maybe in a few backgrounds lol," and told one fan who wanted more of her, "You'll have to tell that to producers :)."

On TikTok, she went further: she said she'd been "cut out of every scene lmao," and that she "didn't get fair treatment so I didn't want to go on." When Heather Rae El Moussa later said she'd been dropped after season 7, Davina replied, "You and me both."
Davina says she filmed season 7. What made it to Netflix was a background shot.
What she says the edit hid
She has also started telling stories about scenes that aired differently from how she remembers them, and some that never aired at all. In an interview published in August 2026, via Yahoo, she said:
- Christine's wedding: Her confrontation with Chrishell over the divorce from Justin Hartley was "definitely edited." She says Maya Vander and Heather were defending her, but their comments were muted and covered with music.
- Emma Hernan: "I actually called her out on camera, but it never made the show," she said. Viewers also never saw that she and Emma had been close friends.
- Chrishell: "I would say Chrishell was very different on and off camera."
- The schedule: The cast usually learned what they'd film from an email "by about 9 pm the night before."
In October 2025, she put the whole thing more simply: "I don't think I was treated with the same grace as the others."
Will Davina come back?
She's said she would, under conditions. She told the Daily Mail she'd return with "fair treatment," that she's happy to do drama and confront people, but "I do wanna feel like I'm not being bullied." She also said she'd want a true friend on the show and named Christine and Maya.
Netflix has half-granted that wish. On April 29, 2026, it announced that Christine Quinn and Heather Rae El Moussa are both returning for season 10, per Tudum. Christine is the friend Davina named, and Heather is the castmate who got dropped alongside her.
"This isn't a rewind. It's a reintroduction."
— Christine Quinn, on returning for season 10
Davina's name isn't in Netflix's announcement. Her two closest connections to the show are coming back, though, and she's already said what it would take for her to join them.
