What Horrific Role Did Mark Hamill Immediately Reject?

That was a role so grotesque he couldn’t even consider.
I have to say, this story about Mark Hamill made me laugh and cringe at the same time. Of course, we’ll always think of him as Luke Skywalker, but the 73-year-old actor has clearly been picky about the roles he takes — especially in horror.
Hamill recently opened up about being offered a part in The Human Centipede 2. And honestly? I can’t blame him for saying no. He described the premise as so grotesque that he immediately rejected it:
"Oh my God! Thank you for putting those images in my head, and I'll never forgive you for doing so. But that was an easy one.
I said, 'No, don't send the script.' The premise alone — I'll never see one, and I really resent the fact that some human being thought of that concept of sewing people together, mouth to anus. Goodbye, and never enter my life again."
Reading that, I got the sense that Hamill really knows his boundaries. He’s fine with horror—as long as it has heart, like his role in Stephen King’s The Long Walk. But The Human Centipede? That’s a hard pass, and I respect him for it.
It’s refreshing to see an actor with such a legendary career still picking projects based on personal comfort and taste, rather than just fame or shock value. Hamill proves that even in horror, discretion really is the better part of valor.
