In 2005, the CW launched Supernatural, the show that has immediately achieved a huge success and made the audience fall in love with the Winchester brothers. The show lasted 15 seasons and was one of the longest-running series of our time.

Starring Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, the series tells a story of the two brothers "saving people & hunting things" and keeping the "family business" alive. The journey of Dean and Sam Winchester begins back in 2004. During that time, they manage to unleash and prevent the Apocalypse, lock and unlock the gates of Hell, raise the son of the devil, and in the finale, kill the God himself.

Immediately after the end of the series in 2020, the CW has revealed that The Winchesters prequel is planned to be released in 2022. The Winchesters tells the story of Sam and Dean Winchester's parents, Mary Campbell (Meg Donnelly) and John Winchester (Drake Roger). We learn how they met and how they began to hunt monsters, demons and other supernatural creatures before their sons followed in their footsteps. Dean Winchester is presented as the storyteller who is showing us the life of his parents.

"Now, I know this story might sound familiar, but I'm gonna put the pieces together in a way that just might surprise you," Dean says in some sort of an intro, and indeed, there are definitely lots of surprises in the pilot.

The first episode of the series, which aired on October 11, has already made fans look at the history in a different light and introduced a new villain that we've never seen before in the show – Acreda. Acreda is being described as an evil force that doesn't belong to this world.

The Supernatural Easter Egg in The Winchesters Only True Fans Spotted

Judging by the brief sneak peek that we got in the first episode, the show is heading towards the multiverse concept, as the Acreda happens to be an Alien-like (and very, very creepy) creature that poses the threat not only to the entire human race but even to demons, angels and other monsters from our world.

No doubt, the new villain seems much more dangerous than the ones that we've seen before in the Supernatural series. This creature can't be fought with iron, salt, spells or cleaning products, a somewhat basic arsenal that Winchesters usually used to kill most of the monsters with. Acreda is believed to be killed by some mysterious vacuum box that apparently won't be that easy to find.

The concept of the new villain entirely changes the perspective of the new series, and fans are already passionately discussing the spinoff, seemingly being happy to dive into the Supernatural universe again.

The Winchesters season 1, episode 2 airs on The CW on Tuesday, October 18 2022. Don't forget to draw a salt circle while watching.
