There are plenty of exciting projects to catch up on if you haven't been following the actor's career.

Dr. Gregory House, an employee of the fictional hospital Princeton-Plainsboro, is unique. This is a man who does good every day, but often behaves like the meanest person on planet Earth, accompanying the process of saving lives with details that are offensive to both those being saved and the doctor's colleagues.

There is no point in going into detail about the success of House M. D.: we already know that the show and its main star conquered the whole world, gained millions of loyal fans, and received two Golden Globes. What's truly interesting is what Hugh Laurie did after his most famous role.

While Hugh Laurie has been treating people for lupus and vasculitis, he has also been absent from the big screen. After House, the actor starred in the Australian drama Mr. Pip, where he played an eccentric history teacher who tries to maintain his self-esteem despite difficult circumstances.

After starring in House M. D., Laurie turned away from the television. Fans waited for his return in the pirate TV series Crossbones, but the actor turned down the lead role and was replaced by John Malkovich.

However, Hugh soon joined Tom Hiddleston in the show The Night Manager, which tells the story of a European hotel manager who is recruited by intelligence agents to uncover an international chain of arms dealers.

Laurie's next project were the Disney movie Tomorrowland, which was his first failure after House wrapped. The film was a flop and received mostly negative reviews from critics and audiences.

Soon, Laurie tried on a doctor's coat again – this time playing a forensic psychoneurologist in the TV series Chance. The show was canceled after two seasons, although it received fairly positive reviews.

The actor continued to conquer small screens with a main role in the satirical sci-fi comedy Avenue 5, about a group of rich people stranded on a cruise ship in space.

Then Hugh Laurie turned into... a swindler cat. The actor gave his voice to the main character in the animation The Amazing Maurice, based on the book by Terry Pratchett.

The actor's most recent work is the dramatic miniseries All the Light We Cannot See. The Netflix show will be released on November 2 and will tell the story of a blind French woman and a young German soldier whose paths cross during World War II.
