Who got whacked on Hulu's The Mob — and why the Don could be next
Hulu put 12 celebrities in an Italian villa and gave one of them the power to send the others home. The cast includes two veterans of actual mob classics, and neither one got the chair.
The Mob premiered on Hulu on October 26, 2026, with new episodes every Monday, and it comes from Studio Lambert, the company behind The Traitors, per Hulu's press site. Parker Posey hosts and executive produces. The format is simple and mean: the group elects a Don, the Don controls the money and decides who gets "whacked," and the family can overthrow the Don, with up to $250,000 in cash prizes at stake, per Martin Cid Magazine.
The cast is pure reality-TV casting with two gangster ringers. Aida Turturro played Janice on The Sopranos, and Debi Mazar made her film debut in Goodfellas. By the end of the premiere, one celebrity has been whacked, and the Don who made the call is already in trouble.
How the first Don got the chair
The first job sent two teams after cars full of evidence the feds wanted, with orders to blow them up. Joe Gorga (The Real Housewives of New Jersey) and Harry Jowsey (Let's Marry Harry) were the captains. Six envelopes of $3,000 were hidden in the cars, along with clues to combination locks that many contestants couldn't crack, per MEAWW's recap.
Gorga's team finished first, found five envelopes worth $15,000 and made him the first Don. A man from Bravo's New Jersey franchise now outranks Janice Soprano.
Who got whacked
The Don's first two decisions set the tone:
- The money: Gorga gave envelopes to Demi Engemann (The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives), Willam Belli (RuPaul's Drag Race), Debi Mazar and Chelsea Lazkani (Selling Sunset), and kept the fifth for himself.
- The whacking: He sent home Bella Palk (Love Overboard). He saw her as the weakest link on his own team and wanted stronger players around him to stay in power longer.
Cutting a teammate instead of a rival is the logic of a Don who expects a challenge. It also told everyone in the villa that loyalty to Gorga doesn't guarantee a thing.

Why the Don could be next
Gorga's problems started almost immediately. He and Engemann went off for a private conversation and refused to say what it was about, and the rest of the family started questioning both of them. Posey then announced that the group would get to vote on whether Gorga stayed Don.
The second hour of the premiere, per TV Grapevine's recap, turned the villa against him:
- Harry Jowsey and Chelsea Lazkani: Lazkani told Jowsey that Gorga had paid her and that she thought Engemann got paid too.
- Demi Engemann and Bruno Tonioli: The two plotted a bank job together, and Lazkani joined them.
- Harry Jowsey and Maria Georgas: The Bachelor alum and Jowsey talked over whether Gorga could be trusted at all.
The wine-making job made it worse. Gorga assigned the roles and didn't work himself, the family filled only two of four crates and brought in $12,000. Jowsey pledged loyalty to Gorga and got an envelope, then watched Gorga hand one to Engemann, the player Jowsey wanted gone. Georgas vowed to take Gorga down.
The first Don of The Mob told the cameras he trusts only himself and his mother. His mother isn't in the villa.
The family voted on Gorga's future, and he was still the one deciding who goes next. His shortlist for the next whacking was Engemann, Turturro and Tonioli. The name gets revealed when episode 2 drops on November 2, and so does whether the Don's own family lets him keep the chair long enough to make the call.
