Who is the main lead in My Bias, My Boss? The casting took two rounds — and finished with an actual K-pop idol
Kim Hye-jun is the fangirl, Kang Hoon is the boss, Cha Woo-min is the bias. Then ITZY showed up.
The main lead of My Bias, My Boss is Kim Hye-jun, and she's earning it twice this summer. While playing Nam Da-reum, a twelve-year D.N.X devotee who takes a job at her idol's fashion startup, she's also in season 2 of Disney+'s A Shop for Killers. Double duty, presumably zero sleep.
Opposite her: Kang Hoon as Kang Ha-gi, the Appello CEO who looks cold from a distance and is, obviously, warm-hearted goo up close, and Cha Woo-min as Lee Chan, ex-idol, actor, fashion director, owner of ten million followers and Da-reum's entire personality since she was seventeen.

Round one, round two
The casting unfolded over eighteen months and, fittingly for a show about fandom, kept adding idols:
- July 2025: Kang Hoon and Kim Hye-jun reported as the leads.
- September 2025: Cha Woo-min joins as the bias.
- November 2025: ITZY's Yuna signs on as Yoon Cho-i, an actress with her own designs on Chan, and sits in on the script reading.
- January 29, 2026: official confirmation of the three leads.
- June 2026: CIX's Hyunsuk and EPEX's Baek Seung cast as D.N.X members Hyeok and Tae-o. Actual idols playing fictional ones.
A show about a fangirl finally cast some people the fangirls would recognize from their own phone wallpapers.
The rookie carrying it
If you know Kim Hye-jun from Kingdom or A Shop for Killers, the bright, chaotic Da-reum is a full costume change, and this is her first rom-com. She has said she went in worried about juggling chemistry with two leading men and came out realizing she never needed to. Her CEO agrees. "I'd been a fan of Kim Hye Jun as an actress," Kang Hoon said, which is a very on-brand thing to say about the star of a show about fans.
Critics have been lukewarm on the formula and warm on her, which is roughly the point of a lead.
Where to find it
My Bias, My Boss airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 20:50 KST on tvN, with Viki carrying it internationally and HBO Max in some regions. It hands over its slot on September 14, so the love triangle has about two weeks left to resolve. The webtoon's answer is a separate story. Literally.
