Melody Morris is out of the Big Brother house, and the manner of her exit was borderline cruel even by this show's standards. Wednesday's episode confirmed what live-feed watchers pieced together on Monday: in the Week 11 "Egyptian Eviction," Rick Devens broke the tie — by smashing Melody's artifact — sending her to jury with no live audience and no exit interview with Julie Chen Moonves. Just a grayed-out photo on the Memory Wall.

How the Curse actually worked
The whole mess traces back to Devens himself. The Survivor icon pressed the button on a $10,000 temptation delivered by BB27 runner-up Vince Panaro, which unleashed the Pharaoh's Curse — in practice, a brutally compressed eviction cycle. Then he went and won the week anyway. The sequence:
- Devens won the "Tiny HOH," a miniature Egyptian-themed endurance comp that ran over four hours, locking himself into the Final 4.
- He nominated Melody and Drew Campbell, with Melody as the stated target — a problem for the house's resident flirtmance, since Drew and Melody had spent weeks growing conspicuously close.
- Drew won the Veto and pulled himself off, forcing Taylor Brown up as the replacement rather than Devens' fellow Survivor legend Dee Valladares.
- The nominees got exactly 60 minutes to campaign before the eviction, held in the backyard with the feeds dark. No votes in the Diary Room — Dee and Drew each had to break the artifact of the person they wanted gone.
Dee broke Melody's. Drew — with Devens' blessing — broke Taylor's, a mercy vote that kept his hands clean. Deadlock, which handed the decision to the HOH, and Devens did what he'd telegraphed all week. Cinemablend's recapper spoke for a chunk of the fandom on the twist itself:
"I'm still confused about how this 'curse' was anything other than a shortened eviction."
The Final 4, and a very bad sign for the icons
Feed watchers got the news the modern way — a zoomed-in shot of a grayed-out Memory Wall photo, captured and captioned by fan account BB_Pissed:
"It's official - Melody has been evicted"
That leaves Devens, Dee, Drew, and Taylor. And hours after surviving the block, Taylor won the vampire-themed Final 4 HOH puzzle, guaranteeing herself a Final 3 spot — meaning the two Survivor winners who've steamrolled this season are suddenly both exposed. Thursday's live episode cuts the house to three, with the finale set for October 1.
