The cameras have already started rolling for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter reboot, uniting the newly assembled cast for the first season based on JK Rowling’s “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”.
The future series is now set to offer a new take on the beloved story with all the new faces, including British actress Bel Powley who joined the cast not long before the production started.
Despite landing a relatively minor role, Powley is yet to compete with the original movie franchise’s actress — in the meantime, you can watch some of the former’s renowned TV series.
Bel Powley Will Play Petunia Dursley in HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ Reboot
With many Harry Potter fans praising the future show for Petunia’s age accuracy, Powley is now set to make a couple with Daniel Rigby as Petunia and Vernon Dursley – the two reluctantly take Dominic McLaughlin’s Harry in after his parents’ death.
The respective roles previously belonged to Fiona Shaw and Richard Griffiths who played the controversial couple throughout the original movie franchise’s eight installments.

If you ever caught yourself thinking you definitely have seen Petunia’s new actress somewhere else, it’s probably because Powley was a pretty regular figure in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
In the series, the actress portrayed Claire Conway who started out at TMS as a personal assistant to the network’s news anchors.
You could also see Powley in Apple TV+’s war drama miniseries Masters of the Air, appearing as Alessandra "Sandra" Wesgate, a member of the British military.
