After Friends, the Joey star remained very busy with other TV shows — but recently, he disappeared and stopped replying to his agent and colleagues. What happened?

Summary:

  • Since Friends, Matt LeBlanc has been extremely busy, always starring in new TV shows.
  • Recently, the actor suddenly vanished from radars and cut off communications with his agent.
  • LeBlanc was vocal about his future retirement in 2017, and it seems that he finally decided to settle down.

Much like his co-stars, Matt LeBlanc enjoyed overwhelming fame thanks to being a core member of the Friends cast. In the world’s most iconic sitcom, LeBlanc famously portrayed Joey Tribbiani, an aspiring casanova actor who, despite neither being the brightest nor the luckiest, was an amazing friend to his favorite people.

Even though after Friends, all the lead stars could afford to never work again, Matt LeBlanc never settled for stepping down. His presence in Hollywood remained strong with the actor constantly appearing in new TV shows and searching out new roles to further his professional horizons. LeBlanc didn’t let anyone forget about him.

Despite that, recently, the actor vanished. Gone from Hollywood, LeBlanc even stopped answering his agent’s calls. Why would one of the busiest men in the industry step down so suddenly, and what this could mean for his future on TV?

Matt LeBlanc Has Grown Tired of Acting

Despite always having a busy schedule since the finale of Friends, LeBlanc already took a break once a decade ago, after his few most recent projects received negative reviews. The actor stepped down for a while, claiming that he was “just enjoying not having to do anything” — but after a few months, he got back to work.

Matt LeBlanc’s current disappearance seems different, and we can see its roots in the actor’s 2017 interview with Conan O’Brien. When invited to CONAN on TBS, LeBlanc used the opportunity to announce his future retirement from acting.

“I would like to retire earlier rather than later because I would like to do not a f*cking thing. That’s what I would like to do. Just nothing. Nothing. Zero,” he told O’Brien.

Even after that interview, LeBlanc limited his TV presence quite dramatically — but now, six years later, it seems like the actor finally decided he’d had enough publicity…and work. Having been a TV star for decades, Matt LeBlanc definitely deserves some rest, and he might have finally settled on leaving Hollywood behind.
