Why Sally Hawkins Left 'Paddington 3' — My Thoughts on Mrs. Brown’s Departure

And why Emily Mortimer stepping in actually makes perfect sense.
I have to say, Sally Hawkins not returning for Paddington 3 definitely stood out to me. She was such a warm, charming Mrs. Brown in the first two movies, and when she explained her departure saying,
"For me it has felt the right time to hand the reins over to another," it made a lot of sense — loyalty to the original vision and knowing when to step back.
Emily Mortimer stepped in to take over the role, and honestly, she did a great job. Though nervous at first, she was welcomed warmly by the cast and crew.
And yes, Judy Brown — the eldest Brown daughter — stayed in the story, still played by Madeleine Harris. It was nice to see some continuity amid the casting changes!
