David Tennant is by far the most beloved Doctor Who to date, and his five-year run is still considered the best among the show's many fans.

Replacing Christopher Eccleston as Time Lord, Tennant quickly rose to fame thanks to his undeniable charisma and serious acting chops, and a great script by Russel T. Davies and Steven Moffat (who wrote show's best episode 'Blink', which Tennant starred in in season 3) sealed the deal as the 10th Doctor era now considered the greatest of them all.

It's no wonder that fans are anxious to see Tennant returning, and with Davies taking back his showrunning duties for Season 14, speculation about the return of the 10th Doctor is now in full swing.

However, don't rely on Tennant's own words about the possibility of his return to the BBC show – he's already proved himself to be pretty good at teasing. In recent panel interview at German Comic Con British actor jokingly addressed the speculations surrounding Season 14.

"I've learned through bitter experience that there's not any point in even answering it because whatever I say is spun by whoever wants to hear it. So, there's no point in me denying it, there's no point in me confirming it, there's no point in me fudging it. Whatever I say will become whatever the Internet wants it to be. I mean, it would be quite a weird idea, and it's not something you'd necessarily expect from Doctor Who. So, I'm not going to try and give you more than that because what's the point!"

It seems that fans of the series are still in the dark about the return of their beloved Doctor, but at least it's not a solid "no", so there's always some room left for hope.
