'Witchboard' Red-Band Trailer Drops — Fans Are Talking (And Some Are Shook)

Blood, gore, and scares — fans can’t decide if it’s a genius or a flop.
I gotta admit — the red-band trailer for the Witchboard remake really shook things up for me. It’s way bloodier, crazier, and way more intense than the first teaser, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting it.
A cat munching on a severed hand? Someone literally ripping their face off? This isn’t your average horror flick anymore — it’s pushing all the right (and gross) buttons.
Set in New Orleans, the story follows Emily and Christian, whose dream café plans get derailed by a cursed Witchboard — an ancient artifact that opens the door to the spirit world.
Throw in a mysterious occult scholar with shady intentions, and you’ve got a recipe for chaos, temptation, and plenty of scares.
Reading YouTube comments, people are loving it — or at least loving the trailer.
One fan said, "We love all the best parts in the trailer. Love it. Don’t gotta spend money now. Thank you."
Can’t argue with that; sometimes the trailer’s enough of a thrill. Others picked up Drag Me to Hell vibes, which is a solid compliment in my book.
But not everyone’s sold — someone called it a "Horrible trailer," hoping the movie makes up for it. And a few are nostalgic for Steel Breeze’s Bump In The Night, which didn’t make the cut this time.
For me, this looks like a wild, fresh spin on a cult classic. It’s messy, bloody, and exactly the kind of horror ride I’m here for. Can’t wait to see how it plays out when it hits theaters August 15.
