If you haven't been living under a rock (all small letters) for the past dozen years or so, you couldn't have possibly missed Disney's live-action remake spree.

While the company's initial fame was earned by making amazing animated movies, with years passing and technologies evolving, Disney keeps reviving their old classics as live-action adaptations.

The most successful titles from back in the day get to hit the theaters once again with real actors and advanced CGI animals.

It's a seemingly win-win strategy: the younger audience gets to experience the magic of the good old stories released before their birth, the older fans can bathe in happy nostalgia, and Disney harvests huge profits for the second time.

This picture-perfect scenario can only be disrupted by the less fancy reality.

Many of the last years' live-action adaptations received quite a lot of hate even before they came out since fans were not happy with either the idea or the execution of the reboots.

Earlier today, Disney released a live-action Moana announcement on YouTube, featuring Dwayne Johnson and his daughters.

Apparently, The Rock will act as the movie's producer and also come back as fan-favorite character Maui who he voiced in the original cartoon.

In the announcement video, The Rock spoke about how important the upcoming movie is to him as a means to commemorate his legendary grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, on whom the character of Maui was largely based.

Moana is one of Disney's best animated movies in recent years as fans claim, and while many of them are excited to hear How Far I'll Go on the big screen yet again, there are some major concerns, too.

Most people wonder why Moana is getting a live-action adaptation so soon: it's only been seven years since the original cartoon's release, and this absolutely does not fit into Disney's "reviving the classics" policy.

Under the YouTube video, thousands of people are questioning this decision.

"Don't get me wrong, I love Moana. One of the best animated movies of the 2010s but it's way too early for a remake. Probably wait 20 more years," says Beach Fan 1278.

Some people are more positive about the reboot, though.

"I'm not exactly sure if I'm excited or not excited for a live-action Moana, but if Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson are reprising their roles of Moana and Maui, count me in," claims Deena Dallas in the comment section.

Admittedly, we'll just have to wait and see how the movie turns out.

If it's really so important for Dwayne Johnson, there's hope that he'll do everything to make the live-action reboot amazing — then, everyone will forget their disputes and just sing along with Moana.
