Revealing the secret of the Antler Queen was not at all what the fans had in mind.

The second season of Yellowjackets has ended, and many fans agree that it was inferior to the first one, and especially in the finale.

The series is beloved by many for the large number of mysteries that perfectly stimulate interest in each new episode and raise the stakes. And when the stakes are high, a lot depends on how those secrets are revealed.

One of the show's biggest mysteries since season one has been the identity of the Antler Queen.

This has led to much discussion among fans, who have come up with their own versions, with Lottie being the leading candidate, which is logical, as she has remained the main mystical figure among the others stuck in the wild forest.

However, it was Natalie who turned out to be the Queen, which upset many fans. And what happened to the adult Natalie in the finale upset fans even more, as her revelation as the Antler Queen seemed to be left out of the final twist.

The girls came up with a card ritual in which whoever draws the queen card either accepts their fate and is killed or runs away to save their life.

Such a card fell to Natalie and she decided to run. Javi tried to help her, but fell through the ice himself, and the girls decided that nature itself saved and chose Natalie.

Natalie becomes a kind of breadwinner because of Javi's death, and the girls are now loyal to her.

However, the fact that Natalie became the Antler Queen did not really change the course of the story, as the adult Natalie died at the hands of Misty.

In the present timeline, they perform the card ritual again, and Shauna draws the queen card. Everyone goes after her, but a fight breaks out and Misty accidentally injects Natalie with fentanyl.

It is unlikely that the Yellowjackets characters are anything like Marvel heroes and can come back from the dead, so we can say for sure – Natalie is dead for good.

Now that fans know who really wears the Queen's horns and that Natalie is dead, young Natalie's actions don't have much impact on the plot or her character development.

One of the main features of the show has always been that actions in the wilderness have consequences in the future, but now young Natalie's actions cannot affect her adult version in any way.
