This Ken was a night driver long before Greta Gerwig’s 2023 hit comedy Barbie came along.

Ryan Gosling might be someone’s favorite hero from romantic dramas like The Notebook, La La Land or even more recent Barbie, but for many he remains a multi-tasked tough guy from a hit movie that is about to leave Netflix forever.

Comprising a star-studded cast, the film is one of the actor’s standouts almost 15 years after its theatrical release and one of the best movies released back in 2011.

Whether you’re a long-standing fan or a newcomer who wants to see Ryan Gosling in his most gripping and challenging role to-date, there’s not so much time left for you to give the movie a watch as it’s now scheduled to disappear from Netflix’s collection in several weeks.

Drive Will Leave Netflix in April

Those who want to enjoy the film once again or see it for the first time before it’s no longer on Netflix might want to put it on the top of their watchlist as Drive won’t be there starting from April 9.

Starring Ryan Gosling opposite Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston and Oscar Isaac, the movie follows The Driver, a mechanic, stunt double and a getaway driver who juggles his multiple jobs making shifts at day and night.

With time, he grows fond of his neighbour Irene living alone with her young son, but their relationship meets a dead end when Irene’s husband Standard is released from prison.

However, the event marks something even more special for The Driver, as he joins Standard for a risky mission to make a million-dollar heist which will put everyone else’s life in great danger.

Drive Is the Highest-Rated Movie in Ryan Gosling’s Career

Even with many successful films released in the past couple of years, the actor holds his record critical score with Drive despite the movie being released all the way back in 2011.

The Nicolas Winding Refn-directed action drama currently sits with 93% and 79% from critics and audiences respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, followed by Gosling’s other extremely successful flicks like La La Land (91% and 82%), Half Nelson (91% and 82%), The Nice Guys (91% and 79%), The Big Short (89% and 88%) and Barbie (88% and 83%).

Still one of the top choices when it comes to enjoying Gosling’s performance on the screen, Drive might be about to leave Netflix for good, but the movie’s most devoted fans who don't want to lose it forever can currently find it on Prime Video where the hit film landed just a couple of weeks ago.

Gosling’s romance drama Blue Valentine is also there for you to check out.
