You Missed It at the Cinema? — Watch 'The Zone of Interest' at Home Now

It’s out now, streaming quietly — don’t miss the chills.
What if the greatest horror isn’t what you see, but what you ignore? Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest is a haunting slow-burn that doesn’t show the Holocaust — and somehow, that makes it even more terrifying.
Set just beyond the walls of Auschwitz, it follows SS commandant Rudolf Höss and his wife Hedwig as they raise their family in blissful denial. Garden parties, tidy breakfasts, piano practice — all while a death camp hums in the background. You won’t see the violence, but you’ll feel it in your bones.
UK & US Release Dates
After stunning Cannes in May 2023, the film quietly crept into US cinemas on December 15, 2023, before arriving in the UK on February 2, 2024. It didn’t need Marvel-level hype — the silence was the point.
DVD & Blu-ray: Now Out
Still like your cinema with physical proof? You’re in luck. The DVD and Blu-ray dropped July 19, 2024. It’s one of those films you’ll want to revisit — or at least try to emotionally process twice.
Is It on Netflix?
Nope. Not in 2023, not in 2024, not yet. This one’s not part of Netflix’s roster, despite being an Oscar darling. If it does show up, it might land on Prime Video in the UK first — but nothing confirmed yet.
Where Was It Filmed?
Parts of the film were shot disturbingly close to the real Auschwitz. The Höss house was reconstructed nearby, and other scenes took place in Jelenia Gora, Poland. The entire production was filmed in an eerily detached style — think CCTV meets arthouse cinema.
