You Should Add These 5 New Arrivals on Prime Video to Your Watchlist

The list includes some cult classics and this year’s major Oscar winner, so you better keep your subscription for a while now.
While this month is a great time for those who have been waiting for some good old movies’ arrival on free streaming platforms like Tubi, March also seems like a month that marks some exciting releases for paid streamers as well.
That said, Netflix and Prime Video ’s vast collections of movies and shows will once again see some new and long-awaited items, with the latter finally bringing several fan-favourite movies to its platform.
Additionally, all of those have already made their way to Prime Video, including Sean Baker’s Oscar-winning romantic drama and David Lynch’s timeless classic.
Raging Bull (1980)
One of Martin Scorsese ’s finest works, Raging Bull starring Robert De Niro is still regarded as one of the greatest films ever made and a cult classic.
Based on Jake LaMotta’s 1970 memoir, the movie follows a middleweight boxer fighting his way towards becoming the best in his range and marking his first major win. Things shift when he suddenly finds love with a girl from the Bronx and, unable to express his feelings in a common manner, lets his entire career go into a risky direction that would likely cost him everything he has.
Raging Bull has been streaming on Prime Video since March 1.
Blue Velvet (1986)
David Lynch’s pure classic that was received with backlash upon its release, Blue Velvet remains one of the top choices when it comes to the late director’s cinematic legacy; this is probably the reason why Prime Video has now made it much easier for Lynch’s fans to find the movie online.
Starring Kyle MacLachlan and Isabella Rossellini, the movie follows the former’s college student Jeffrey Beaumont whose temporary return to his hometown goes down into utter madness when he discovers a severed ear not far from his house.
Blue Velvet has been available for watching on the streamer’s platform since March 1.
Back to the Future ( 1985)
Robert Zemeckis might have not found praise for its recent family drama Here, but he definitely still gets lots of love for this comedy franchise that just didn’t age at all.
The first out of three movies in the series, Back to the Future is the one audiences are still gushing over, with the story setting up Marty McFly and Doc Brown’s future adventures.
The film was released back in 1985 and follows high school student Marty McFly accidentally sent to the past where he encounters the younger versions of his parents; with some issues that start showing during the earlier period of their relationships, Marty has to make them fall in love with each other anyway, otherwise he just won’t be existing anymore.
Back to the Future has been streaming on Prime Video since March 1.
Drive (2011)
Those who have been disappointed by Netflix’s decision to remove the Ryan Gosling-led hit action movie can now save their tears and find Drive on Prime Video instead.
The actor wasn’t a stranger to portraying stuntmen even when he recently starred in David Leitch’s The Fall Guy back in 2024; years before, Gosling had another similar role, appearing as The Driver, a Hollywood stuntman by day and a getaway driver by night in Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive.
When he befriends his neighbour Irene and her young son, The Driver also seals a business deal with her husband Standard; together they will embark on a risky million-dollar heist that will put everyone’s life in danger.
Drive has been available on Prime Video since March 6.
Anora (2024)
Sean Baker’s indie hit that took home 5 statuettes at the recent Oscars ceremony, Anora is a bittersweet romantic drama starring Mikey Madison in her most profound role yet.
The movie follows Madison’s sex worker Ani whose life is thrown upside down when she meets a Russian oligarch’s son Vanya and eventually marries him. The seemingly perfect fairytale ends abruptly when Vanya’s parents find out the truth and demand that the marriage be annulled, also making it clear that their imminent arrival in New York City will put an end to all the madness.
Anora has been streaming on Prime Video since March 18.
