You’ll Never Buy Raffaello Again: This Homemade Version Is Fluffier and Way Cheaper
If you never paid much attention to the coconut dessert, you might change your mind after this recipe.
The variety of sweets and desserts in grocery stores and bakeries got us thinking that it’s way easier to just buy those sweet treats rather than try to make them at home. As it turned out, the recipes for some of those can actually save you a fortune and, on top of that, get you a better taste of the already familiar dessert.
This also concerns famous Rafaello sweets which are pretty expensive, but at the same time are easy to make with the simplest ingredients.
Here’s what you need: 200 ml (250 g) of condensed milk, 100 g of butter, 100 g of coconut flakes, 30 g of sesame seeds.
Fry the sesame seeds in the oven or in a dry frying pan to bring out their aroma. Next, melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, add the condensed milk, and heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth.
Then add 80 g of coconut flakes and roasted sesame seeds, continue to cook the mixture for 10-12 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens. Leave the mixture for 20-30 minutes, then put it in the fridge for 40-60 minutes.
When the mixture has cooled, form it into small round candies. Dip each candy in the remaining coconut flakes (20 g) to coat all sides — and they are ready to be served. If there are leftovers, store them in the fridge.
