Young Sheldon’s Final Season Teased a Spin-off For These Characters — Now It’s Confirmed

Young Sheldon’s story may be over after seven seasons with the final episode coming out in May, but the character’s family isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Earlier in March, simultaneously with the seventh season’s first episode, CBS dropped some exciting news for fans about yet another spin-off series that this time will put Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister in the center of the plot — but, as it turned out, some particular episodes of season 7 were giving almost direct hints all along.

Georgie, portrayed by Montana Jordan, is Sheldon’s oldest brother who gets into relationships with Mandy, played by Hannah Montana’s star Emily Osment, and they eventually end up having a child together and then getting married. Though the couple’s happy life is already settled in Young Sheldon, the final season still surely paved some way for their story’s development in the future.

Thus, the episodes 6 and 7 already bring Georgie and Mandy’s wedding to the screen with some fuel between their families over different organizational matters — the plot twist that may also become pivotal in the upcoming spin-off.

Young Sheldon’s plot also doesn’t go any further for the characters after their marriage — meaning that they have a lot to talk about and to decide for their life together which will probably become clearer in their own series.

The only potential problem that may resurface here is that Georgie, as it was mentioned back in The Big Bang Theory, ended up with some major misfortunes in his personal life given his multiple divorces.

It nonetheless can also be fixed and at least Emily Osment herself thinks so — the actress once confessed that she had hopes for the creators to make their characters separate, but then get back together.

The so far nameless spin-off’s production isn’t supposed to start until Young Sheldon gets its final episode released on May 17, but the filming is already rumored to be starting in July.

None of the other characters’ come-back has been confirmed yet, but their appearance will make a lot of sense — they’re all one family, after all.
