The time has come for a big revelation in Apple TV+’s Your Friends & Neighbors that previously saw Jon Hamm’s Coop getting into an even more serious trouble since he was forced to start a weird business after being fired.
The last episode of the show’s first season delves into the shocking truth about Paul Levitt’s death that Coop has been accused of not long before, revealing that Coop’s on-and-off lover Sam (aka Paul’s ex-wife) schemed against him to frame Coop for Paul’s murder.
However, the unpredicted plot twist caused more confusion rather than excitement among the show’s viewers, and some are no longer determined to continue with all the plot holes and inconsistencies Your Friends and Neighbours’ second season might offer as well.

It’s not clear yet what exactly the show’s second season will delve into now that Coop’s stealing scheme caused an even bigger mess than his job dismissal, but some viewers fear the next instalment might be repetitive just because of lack of character development.
“For me, it was a sad ending. The idiot learned nothing. He is risking it all again for nothing but the thrill. He would do that to his family? Arrogance will bring him down again. He’s a piss poor burglar too. Even if you think the cams are down, you still wear a mask. And heavy leather gloves make handling things very difficult. Surgical gloves are so much better. “I think I've become comfortable with the fact I am watching this purely for John Hamm and that the plot has more holes in it than a slice of Swiss cheese”, thankyouforthepie added.
What’s even sadder is the fact that the first half of the episode was pretty good, but then all hopes were crushed.
“I really liked the show and it’s a solid season but the last 30 minutes were a bit of a let down. Sam narrating her story felt rushed and Olivia’s acting on her speech about how Coop didn’t deserve his life was subpar”, hacc23 agreed.
“WTF?? I was not expecting everything to be wrapped up in the finale and everybody getting a happy ending to their story. It felt incredibly rushed, like they went into it not expecting to do a second season. I have no idea what next season is going to be about now”, DrRafaelPenguin chimed in.
‘Your Friends and Neighbours’ Break Down That Season 1 Finale Major Narrative Shift
The season’s final plot twist wasn’t the only shocking revelation though, as it was quickly followed by a shift in the entire show’s perspective, this time allowing Olivia Munn’s Sam to become the central figure instead of Coop and narrate the story from her point of view.
The scene, as it turned out, was never in the script and actually came together as a last-minute decision.
“It was one of those revelatory moments where we’re a season one show, and we’re allowed to make our own rules. Why not just completely shift points of view for a minute and really understand and sympathize with what she was going through?” Your Friends and Neighbours’ creator Jonathan Tropper revealed in an interview with Time.
When Will ‘Your Friends and Neighbours’ Season 2 Be Released?
The show’s second season is now expected to arrive on Apple TV+ sometime in the spring of 2026.
