Team Startefacts

I'm no Aja Romano, but I try.

Marvel, Supernatural, Star Trek, and everything fandom-related in between. If it's worth reading, watching, or listening to — I'm on it, and telling you about it.

I've been at Startefacts since the actual beginning back in 2022.

One of my early assignments was covering CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where I sat in a dark hall geeking out over Doctor Strange footage and thought: God, this is a dream job for me.

Well, turns out — not THE dream job, per se. Entertainment journalism is hard, harder than ever in 2026, with AI threatening your integrity and your work ethic at every turn. But hey: I still try. I love what I do, and I love writing about the MCU, however shitty their movies have gotten over the last few years. I'm still in my chair in a movie theater when a new Nolan movie comes out, or a Guy Ritchie movie, or frankly any Statham movie.

What I cover: the MCU and superhero cinema, long-running genre TV (Supernatural, Star Trek, and their fandoms), fan culture and how it shapes what gets made, action filmmaking and the directors who take it seriously.

How I work: I watch the thing before I write about it — the whole thing, not the recap. I rewatch scenes when my memory isn't reliable, which is often. I check release dates, credits, production history, and source material against primary sources — press notes, the books, the people who made it — not the top-ranking aggregator. If I got something wrong, I fix it and say so in the piece.

Where else to find me: Twitter/X — tips, corrections, and complaints about my Statham opinions all welcome.

You've been tossing the best part of your pumpkin — chefs say even the shells are edible
Every October, the same crime scene: a newspaper-covered kitchen table, a gutted pumpkin, and a sad orange pile of guts headed for the trash. That pile is the best thing the pumpkin has to offer, and we've been treating it like a byproduct.

How to watch Ghost in the Shell in order: one franchise, four separate animated continuities and a live-action reboot
Every few years I decide I'm finally going to be the kind of person who has Ghost in the Shell fully sorted in her head, and every few years the franchise laughs at me. It is not one story. It never was.

Babe, wake up, the ballroom is doing crimes again. Dancing with the Stars decided that Season 35 — a season with sixteen couples, the sequins budget of a small nation, and Julia Stiles — needed a little extra spice.

The single most requested rapper collab in Fortnite history finally happened, and Epic announced it the only acceptable way. A nine-second teaser, Wayne's face in shadow, and one line:

Paramount+ has apparently decided that suspense is for other networks. The streamer greenlit a second season of its Beth-and-Rip juggernaut a full nine days before the season 1 finale dropped, which is the corporate equivalent of proposing on the second date.

The Gentlemen: what happens to Freddy? Daniel Ings calls season 2 Freddy "very, very serious" — the finale explains why
Freddy Horniman spent season 1 of The Gentlemen as the patron saint of catastrophic decisions: the coke, the debts, the chicken suit, the chicken dance. He was the show's id in a waistcoat.

Taylor Frankie Paul is back filming Mormon Wives, and one castmate walked out over what she saw in March
Yesterday she said she was leaving and would not say why. Tonight she named it: the show brought back the one person she had told producers she would not film with, and she has not shot a day since they said yes to her.

Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski separated a while ago: the marriage that started in secret ended the same way
They got engaged publicly, then married so quietly that the news arrived after the fact, and spent nine years keeping the marriage off camera. The end of it was handled the same way: they had already separated when they told anyone, and the telling came from them, not from a publicist.

Is The Rivals of Amziah King based on a novel? The screenplay is credited to "James Montague", a name that belongs to nobody
The Rivals of Amziah King feels like a book. A big, verbose, sprawling American novel with digressions about bee colonies and potluck etiquette, the kind you'd find dog-eared in a lake house.
