Team Startefacts

I'm no Aja Romano, but I try.

Marvel, Supernatural, Star Trek, and everything fandom-related in between. If it's worth reading, watching, or listening to — I'm on it, and telling you about it.

I've been at Startefacts since the actual beginning back in 2022.

One of my early assignments was covering CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where I sat in a dark hall geeking out over Doctor Strange footage and thought: God, this is a dream job for me.

Well, turns out — not THE dream job, per se. Entertainment journalism is hard, harder than ever in 2026, with AI threatening your integrity and your work ethic at every turn. But hey: I still try. I love what I do, and I love writing about the MCU, however shitty their movies have gotten over the last few years. I'm still in my chair in a movie theater when a new Nolan movie comes out, or a Guy Ritchie movie, or frankly any Statham movie.

What I cover: the MCU and superhero cinema, long-running genre TV (Supernatural, Star Trek, and their fandoms), fan culture and how it shapes what gets made, action filmmaking and the directors who take it seriously.

How I work: I watch the thing before I write about it — the whole thing, not the recap. I rewatch scenes when my memory isn't reliable, which is often. I check release dates, credits, production history, and source material against primary sources — press notes, the books, the people who made it — not the top-ranking aggregator. If I got something wrong, I fix it and say so in the piece.

Where else to find me: Twitter/X — tips, corrections, and complaints about my Statham opinions all welcome.

You, at 3 a.m. in August: flipping the pillow to the cold side, discovering there is no cold side, negotiating with a fan, lying in a starfish position of pure defeat. Congratulations — you were personally experiencing a world record. The ocean did this to you.

Jon Snow is going to Hogwarts: Kit Harington takes the role Nicholas Hoult held for less than 2 weeks
The Night's Watch oath says nothing about Defense Against the Dark Arts, and yet here we are: Kit Harington, 39, professional brooder and the most famous bastard of Winterfell, has been cast in HBO's Harry Potter series. Season 2. Gilderoy Lockhart. Yes, *that* Lockhart — the fraudulent, hair-flipping, self-adoring celebrity wizard Kenneth Branagh played in 2002, a man who never met a mirror he didn't fall for.

The Milky Way ate a whole galaxy 12 billion years ago — Hubble just found the leftovers: stars worth 500 million Suns
Fun fact about our home galaxy: it's a cannibal. Always has been. The Milky Way got big the way empires and sourdough starters get big — by absorbing everything nearby. And now the Hubble Space Telescope, 36 years old and still outworking all of us, has found the crumbs from one of its very first meals.

Every few months the fitness industry invents a new machine that costs as much as a used car and folds out of your ceiling. They say 'I'm fine' and 'don't take it personally' — and mean neither: 10 phrases of people you can't trust
We all know one. The friend who's "fine" in a tone that could curdle milk. The coworker whose feedback always arrives gift-wrapped in "no offense, but." The ex who — no, actually, we're not doing the ex today. The point is: some people communicate, and some people deploy language like a smoke machine, and psychologists have basically handed us a decoder ring.
