Team Startefacts

I'm no Aja Romano, but I try.

Marvel, Supernatural, Star Trek, and everything fandom-related in between. If it's worth reading, watching, or listening to — I'm on it, and telling you about it.

I've been at Startefacts since the actual beginning back in 2022.

One of my early assignments was covering CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where I sat in a dark hall geeking out over Doctor Strange footage and thought: God, this is a dream job for me.

Well, turns out — not THE dream job, per se. Entertainment journalism is hard, harder than ever in 2026, with AI threatening your integrity and your work ethic at every turn. But hey: I still try. I love what I do, and I love writing about the MCU, however shitty their movies have gotten over the last few years. I'm still in my chair in a movie theater when a new Nolan movie comes out, or a Guy Ritchie movie, or frankly any Statham movie.

What I cover: the MCU and superhero cinema, long-running genre TV (Supernatural, Star Trek, and their fandoms), fan culture and how it shapes what gets made, action filmmaking and the directors who take it seriously.

How I work: I watch the thing before I write about it — the whole thing, not the recap. I rewatch scenes when my memory isn't reliable, which is often. I check release dates, credits, production history, and source material against primary sources — press notes, the books, the people who made it — not the top-ranking aggregator. If I got something wrong, I fix it and say so in the piece.

Where else to find me: Twitter/X — tips, corrections, and complaints about my Statham opinions all welcome.

Who dies in The White Lotus season 1? The ending explained — the body in the cargo hold has a suitcase to blame
Mike White's first season of The White Lotus opens with a box being loaded into a plane's cargo hold and Jake Lacy's Shane looking like a man who has recently seen God and disliked Him. Then the show rewinds a week and makes you sweat over which pastel-clad guest is in the box.

Tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT, NBC would like to reintroduce you to Peter Krause, a man television has been putting through it. After 9-1-1 killed off Bobby Nash and left an entire fandom in group-chat mourning, Krause is back — in a suit, with an earpiece.

Ben Affleck nearly cast ex Jennifer Garner as his wife in Animals — Kerry Washington got the role after a one-line veto
File this one under "movies that almost broke the internet before a single frame screened." Ben Affleck's kidnapping thriller Animals hits Netflix October 9, and it very nearly arrived with his actual ex-wife playing his fictional wife.

Far Cry FX series adds Brendan Gleeson and Jennifer Jason Leigh to its cast — and the Fargo creator won't follow the games
Every prestige-TV cycle has its bat-signal, and this week's is Noah Hawley quietly assembling a cast list that reads like an awards-season seating chart. His Far Cry series at FX just added five names, and at least two of them made me put down my coffee.

Wonka's The Golden Ticket controversy explained: Netflix revived Gene Wilder's voice with AI
Netflix looked at the wreckage of that 2024 Glasgow "Willy's Chocolate Experience" — the one with the meth-lab bouncy castle and the crying children — and thought: what if we did that, but prestige, and with a dead man's voice? Thus, Wonka's The Golden Ticket, premiering September 23.

Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening: what's inside the $1 billion building — Star Wars props, Frida Kahlo and 30,000 comics
Sixteen years, three cities, one very public breakup with San Francisco and Chicago, and roughly a billion dollars later, George Lucas's museum is finally, actually open. The man himself sounds like he barely survived it.

Lioness season 3 finale ending explained: Aaliyah Amrohi is back as the villain nobody clocked
Raise your hand if you spent eight episodes of Lioness season 3 confidently yelling "it's Russia" at your TV. Now keep it raised if you pivoted to "okay, fine, it's Ukraine" somewhere around episode five. Congratulations, you played yourself, and so did the CIA.
