A fifth season is now officially coming in The Bear’s way, so we can now start a countdown until we see the show’s most beloved characters again on the screen — in the meantime, here’s our own top of the kitchen drama’s best participants so far.

It didn’t take long for The Bear to get a highly discussed fifth season a week after the fourth instalment’s premiere on June 25.

The show has now reached its climax in the latest season’s finale, revealing that Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy was struggling with his love for cooking recently and thus was considering quitting the restaurant.

Despite some being convinced that this was the definite end for The Bear as a restaurant and The Bear as a TV series, the latter is yet to continue exploring its lead characters’ complicated relationships.

In fact, The Bear might even be a record breaker when it comes to the number of the most compelling characters on modern TV, so here’s our own ranking.

10. Marcus (Lionel Boyce)

Unlike many other characters in The Bear, Marcus, who is a pastry master out there, can boast of a steady nature and extreme focus on what he does.

However, Marcus is everyone’s favorite due to these traits that bring some sort of peace into the never-ending chaos in The Bear.

9. Neil Fak (Matty Matheson)

An occasional handyman for the restaurant, Neil sometimes makes it all worse with his goofiness and unserious attitude — but he’s still the best when it comes to doing whatever he can to help, even if he doesn’t know how exactly to.

8. Ebraheim (Edwin Lee Gibson)

He isn’t quite often present when the mess unfolds, but Ebraheim makes some sort of an island of peace in The Bear’s kitchen – even though he does have his own struggles while trying to adapt to the restaurant’s pace and the younger generation’s requirements for the job.

7. Tina (Liza Colón-Zayas)

Tina might have seemed like a tough and reserved person at first, but it was made clear later that she does things this way just because hard life has forced her to.

Despite fears and doubts, Tina evolves radically throughout The Bear’s four seasons, embracing opportunities to grow professionally.

6. Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto (Abby Elliott)

Carmy’s older sister has been through a lot too, but it doesn’t mean she won’t try to come to the rescue of her loved ones when there’s a need for it.

Sugar is supportive, patient, (mostly) mentally stable and just sweet — probably that’s why she’s got such a nickname.

5. Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri)

Sydney is Carmy’s right hand, and that’s what makes her one of the most ambitious characters in The Bear’s universe.

Though she might be asking herself for way too much sometimes, Sydney is a driving force of the restaurant’s team, all the while doing everything she can to bring structure to the kitchen’s ongoing chaos.

4. Donna Berzatto (Jamie Lee Curtis)

Despite starting out as one of the most unlikeable characters in the show, Donna is making progress as she seeks ways to establish healthy relationships with her kids after being quite abusive with them.

Donna’s character development in The Bear’s season 4 is what might make her one of those villain-turned-hero characters to look out for in the next instalment.

3. Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White)

He might be a bit ignorant about his own family amidst the ongoing kitchen chaos, but Carmy isn’t afraid to admit his own mistakes and try to fix the issues with people he deeply cares for.

Even though his anxiety is likely one of possible reasons for his crucial decision in the fourth season’s finale, it’s also what makes Carmy a very relatable character in the modern world’s utter madness.

2. Claire (Molly Gordon)

Claire’s ability to see the good in people and give them second chances is what pushes Carmy to do his best and become a better version of himself.

Empathetic and always supportive of others, Claire probably serves as the entire team’s salvation when things get rocky once again.

1. Richie Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach)

Also one of the least likeable characters in The Bear’s season 1, Richie gradually earns the audiences’ trust and love by making various attempts to leave his bratty attitude behind and become a man with purpose.

Oh, and his love for Taylor Swift just as a means to connect to his young daughter is both hilarious and adorable.
