3 Grey's Anatomy Characters that Drove Fans Up the Wall, According to Reddit
With over 400 episodes to date, we have seen many doctors enter the doors of Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital, and many leave. Unsurprisingly, not all of these characters were loved, and a recent Reddit thread revealed a few that drove the fans absolutely crazy.
Teddy
Some of the fans took to Reddit to vent their frustration with the two very different versions of Theodora 'Teddy' Altman that existed on the show. The first version Redditors found to be tenacious and smart, a kind doctor and capable mentor to Cristina Yang.
This was the Teddy that fans fell in love with, making her a strong favorite character on the show and fans were disappointed when she left to join the Army Medical Command.
Everything changed when she made a return in season 14.
She begins a romantic relationship with Owen Hunt, to whom Cristina had been married. If this wasn't seen as enough of a bad move, she cheats on Owen, which is revealed to him when he accidentally receives a voicemail of her having sex with Tom.
Apart from her inability to be loyal, Redditors find Teddy to be bossy and annoying in general, at the same time she seems to be constantly making poor decisions in her life and her career that leave viewers wanting to throw something at their TV.
For a character that started as a strong woman and reliable teacher, Redditors have found her character to have changed for the worse since returning to Grey-Sloan, with some even finding her completely insufferable.
Owen Hunt
The next character that drove Redditors crazy was none other than Owen Hunt. Owen arrived at Grey Sloan in season 5 as a trauma surgeon after his time in the army.
From the start, his anger issues are blamed on PTSD and he refuses to seek treatment, even after an incident where he strangled Cristina in his sleep. Owen seemed to be the bad guy in all of his relationships by his own doing, usually due to his stubbornness and unwillingness to compromise.
Fans on Reddit found his character exhausting to watch and all his interactions were either uninteresting or negative.
Ellis Grey

Saving the best for last, the Reddit thread put Ellis Grey at the top of the list of characters that drove them crazy. It seems the only positive thing about her was that she was the mother of the beloved main character, Meredith Grey.
She acts above everyone else but had an affair with another married man. She was a brilliant surgeon in her time but constantly looks down on Meredith. In general, her character is overbearing, arrogant and a seeker of attention, with her biggest stunt being a failed suicide attempt in front of a young Meredith to get the attention of the man she had an affair with, Richard Webber.
It was a relief for Redditors that unlike the previous two, Ellis Grey was not a regular on the show, or fans may have actually lost their minds watching her.
