Is there any hope of ending the show in a way that doesn't disappoint?

Ted Lasso season 3 really kept the fans on the edge of their seats throughout the season. It seemed like the showrunners were playing with the fans' nerves, making them love or hate the show from one episode to the next.

Still, there were enough unexpected twists and turns to keep them watching and waiting for the finale. The last episode, titled So long, Farewell, will premiere on May 31, but the show actually has a lot of unanswered questions for now.

So here are some of the ideas that fans are sharing on Reddit about how their beloved series might end in an ideal (if a little crazy) world.

1. Love story ending

Many fans seem to believe that there might actually be a romantic ending. The most outrageous one is that Ted will finally have a happy ever after with... none other than Rebecca!

Well, why not? Even though the romance was actually between her and Sam, that doesn't stop true shippers.

“Ted and Rebecca are going to happen. Sorry people who don’t like this. But the more I re-watch, the more I think it’s end-game for the series,” Redditor onekrazykat said.

2. Nate’s fate: place your bets

Well, the character who went all the way from a fan favorite to the fandom’s persona non grata still managed to turn the tables in season 3.

Nate became the character who actually had a story that made fans somehow feel sorry for him and even wish for him to have a great future.

For example, Nate fans wished for him to be back at Richmond in the show's finale and even become the head coach. Well, if the spot is open, it seems only fair! Or does it really, after all the awful things he did to Richmond?

3. Happy ending for Ted

Yeah, well, that doesn’t sound too wild… if we don’t think about how the show managed to disappoint us so far.

Some Redditors flirt with the idea of a perfect scenario where Ted finally realizes that he had done everything he could for the people who became his new family, but it’s time to move on. Or it's better to say "move back" – to the United States and his family.

Most of the fans are sure that the only way that Ted is happy is when he is reconnected with his son in Kansas City. And who knows, maybe there he will be offered a job as satisfying as his last one?
