Is It Cake?

Audiences aren't tired of watching artisans make handbags, sneakers, and footballs out of cake. This will be the third season of the reality television show, where contestants try to trick the judges by replicating an object and making the judges guess which of the objects is real, and which is (you guessed it) cake. The cash prize is higher, and we're willing to guess the contestants will have even more tricks up their sleeves.

Survival of the Thickest

Michelle Buteau's new show dropped on Netflix just days before the Hollywood strike, meaning that neither the creator nor the rest of the team was able to advertise it. Luckily the first season still managed to find an audience, so we'll be getting a second season of this hilarious series about Mavis, a plus-size and reluctantly single stylist who decides to recreate her life.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

Anticipation was high for this live-action adaptation, but not nearly as high as the trepidation. We'd been burned once before by an Avatar remake, and we didn't want to have our hearts broken again.

However, critics and audiences alike have been largely pleased by the show, which doesn't entirely capture the spirit of the animated original but (so far) manages to honor its characters and stories pretty well. Netflix has confirmed that the show will return for two more seasons.

Berlin

This prequel series follows the story of master thief Andrés 'Berlin' de Fonollosa years before the events of Money Heist. Berlin is the leader of a gang of thieves, but he finds himself in deeper than he planned when he falls in love with the wife of a mark.

You don't have to watch the 5-season Money Heist to enjoy this series, which gives some in-depth background to a fascinating character.

Canceled:

Obliterated

Described as 'The Hangover meets Mission Impossible ', this rollercoaster of an action-comedy series starts with an elite special forces team managing to stop a nuclear bomb from detonating in Las Vegas. To celebrate, they spend the night partying – only to wake up to the news that the bomb they dismantled was a decoy. Now the team has to track down the real bomb while fighting against the massive amount of drugs and alcohol still in their systems.

Luckily Obliterated wrapped up its first season storyline, though it's disappointing to learn that we won't get to follow the team around the world for their next misadventure.

Ratched

There was always supposed to be a second season of Ratched, a prequel about the villainous nurse from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. However, a lengthy hiatus due to COVID meant that the show lost what momentum it had, and a combination of middling ratings and large budget meant that this period piece has officially been laid to rest.

This is especially frustrating news for fans, who have been waiting for a conclusion to Ratched's story since the Season 1 cliffhanger.

The Brothers Sun

This one's a real heartbreaker, if only because we love nothing more than watching Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh kicking ass and taking names.

Yeoh plays Mama Sun, the mother of two boys. One lives a relatively carefree life in America, with no idea that the rest of his family runs a powerful and merciless Taiwanese mafia outfit. The two worlds collide when the Sun patriarch is assassinated, and trained killer Charles comes to the USA to protect his clueless little brother.

Wrapping Up

Some Netflix titles aren't being canceled, exactly – they're just coming to a natural and agreed-upon ending. So we'll also be saying goodbye to:
