4 New Medical Dramas of 2025 That Are Already Out

For those who finished Grey’s Anatomy.
Streaming platforms have a lot to offer today's audiences, but it seems that what they keep craving is medical dramas. "Keep 'em coming," someone once said, and the creators replied, "Say no more.”
This year is already big for new medical dramas. There are four that we know of that have already premiered. But they are all completely different. From groundbreaking surgeries to the moral dilemmas that the doctors face everyday, these new shows promise to bring a fresh perspective to the genre.
1. Watson
Watson is a TV series developed by Craig Sweeny that debuted on CBS on January 26, 2025. This show has an intriguing characterization as a “medical drama infused with detective elements.” It focuses on the character of Dr. John Watson, a figure from the cherished Sherlock Holmes universe. The titular role is played by Morris Chestnut.
One year after Sherlock Holmes seemingly met his end at the hands of Moriarty at Reichenbach Falls, Dr. John Watson resumes his medical career by opening the "Holmes Clinic," which specializes in treating patients with bizarre ailments. However, one day he finds out something that changes his life forever. And that’s where we will leave you guessing (and preparing for a binge).
2. The Pitt
There are many medical dramas, but few take a raw and realistic approach to depicting the lives of medical professionals. The Pitt does not shy away from portraying the tough choices that doctors face in an environment where resources are limited and every decision can mean the difference between life and death. The show already has a lot of fans, and they all think it's a rare gem that finally doesn't sugarcoat the way the system works.
“I work in an ER--It's the most realistic portrayal of an ER I've ever seen (taking crown from ER season 1), right down to the burned out doctors & nurses doing their best in a broken system that neglects them and their patients,” Redditor sum_dude44 said.
3. Doc
Compared to the previous show, this one is not as realistic and actually makes it obvious that it is just a TV show, a fictional story created for the viewers' enjoyment. The plots are engaging and the characters are well written.
Doc tells the story of Dr. Amy Larsen who loses her memory in a tragic car accident. And now she must go back to being an intern and find a way (which is not going to be easy) to rebuild her life.
4. The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call
This is a K-drama, so you know it's going to have a pretty unique premise. The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call follows an elite team of trauma specialists at a university hospital. The story focuses on the genius doctor Baek Kang-hyeok. He has a brilliant experience as he has worked in many conflict zones around the world.
When Kang-hyeok sets his mind on something and finds it right, there’s no way he is going to be stopped.
“Very well done. I'm not a big fan of medical dramas but before I knew it I was almost done. The pace of the drama, the way the leads are presented and the high quality acting by them and the directing allows you to know the character in just a couple of minutes. It's also funny as hell sometimes. Great drama,” Redditor FairyOrchid125 said.
