5 Great The CW TV Series That Never Jumped the Shark & Still Hold Up in 2025

Did your favorite The CW show make this list?
For many years, The CW has delighted viewers with cult series, but not all of them maintained quality until the end. However, some avoided such a fate.
Here are the five best The CW projects that did not disappoint fans and remain worth watching in 2025.
1. 'Superman & Lois', 2021-2024
IMDb Score: 7.8/10
Without exaggeration, Superman & Lois is the best thing to come out about the superhero in many years. All four seasons maintained the high bar set at the beginning. The final episode not only ended this particular show but also an entire era.
In 2001, Smallville premiered on The WB, the predecessor of The CW, which laid the foundation for the Arrowverse.
A couple of years ago, The CW was declared hopelessly unprofitable and sold for pennies. Superman & Lois was the only project extended for another season, albeit a shortened one, after the deal.
2. 'iZombie', 2015-2019
IMDb Score: 7.8/10
iZombie, a screen adaptation of the DC comic of the same name, tells the story of a medic who accidentally becomes one of the walking dead.
She channels her thirst for brains by eating those of corpses from the morgue. This gives her access to their memories, which she uses to solve mysterious murders.
Ironic and not serious at all, iZombie is enjoyable for its both detective and comedic elements. While it doesn't claim to deconstruct the story of infection with a deadly virus, it's still interesting to watch this funny story unfold.
3. 'Nikita', 2010-2013
IMDb Score: 7.7/10
Nikita was saved by the secret organization Division and given a second chance. However, she was unaware that she was being trained as an assassin. After being betrayed by those she trusted, she escaped. Three years later, she returns to destroy the organization.
Meanwhile, Division continues to recruit new agents and erase their pasts. Among them is Alex, who is just beginning to understand her destiny.
Nikita is still a great TV action show with impressive editing and intense action scenes. If you want to see people stalk, fight, shoot, disguise themselves, and perform other spy tricks, this is the show for you.
4. 'Everybody Hates Chris', 2005-2009
IMDb Score: 7.6/10
Chris, a Black boy, moved with his family to a new area of Brooklyn. He has a younger brother and sister.
Their father, Julius, works several jobs, yet the family often doesn't have enough money, so their mother has to budget carefully. Chris attends a good school where he is the only Black student, so it is difficult for him to make friends.
This could have been the basis for a dull drama, but the creator of the series was comedian Chris Rock. As a result, the adventures of a thirteen-year-old boy on the streets of Brooklyn became a sparklingly funny, touching, and sincere sitcom that remains entertaining even after twenty years.
5. 'Legends of Tomorrow', 2016-2022
IMDb Score: 6.7/10
Legends of Tomorrow started out like any other The CW superhero project. The main character, Rip Hunter, assembled a team of extraordinary individuals to help him save the universe from a villain.
The show looked serious and pompous, but neither the conflict nor the cast appealed to viewers. Despite a weak first season, Legends developed into an unconventional superhero series about time travel.
The writers didn't take themselves too seriously and weren't afraid to make the storyline and characters funny and even crazy. At the same time, Legends of Tomorrow remains as underrated as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is for Marvel.
