5 Hit Miniseries You Can Watch on Netflix Right Now

These are some great options if you’re a subscription holder who likes binge-watching.
With more and more shows prolonging their life thanks to yet another season, the miniseries can sometimes become something many viewers have been looking for all along.
The short format allows the story to wrap it up after several well-structured episodes without leaving its audiences with a long wait for another couple of years until a new instalment comes along.
Having turned into the real star of the moment, miniseries never stopped arriving on streaming, proving that their popularity was there for a reason. Just like many other digital platforms, Netflix keeps up with the trends, every so often giving its viewers yet another short-formatted story they can eat up in just one evening.
While there might be some more to land on Netflix’s platform in the upcoming months, the streamer has already stored some of the best miniseries of recent years.
Griselda (2024)
Starring Modern Family ’s Sofía Vergara in an Emmy-nominated role, Griselda tracks down the criminal path of Griselda Blanco, a Colombian drug kingpin who kept the whole country shaken back in the 1980s.
The show also offers a glimpse into Blanco’s eventual downfall caused by her rising suspicions about a potential betrayal from friends and family members. Griselda received universal acclaim from both critics and audiences, with Vergara securing Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations.
Godless (2017)
Western shows are never out of style nowadays, so no wonder Netflix got one of its own just not long prior to Yellowstone ’s premiere.
Godless stars Downton Abbey ’s actress Michelle Dockery as Alice Fletcher, an independent widow who manages a small ranch, living with her mother and son in a small New Mexico town called La Belle.
The place is mostly populated by women, which is why things take a dangerous turn when a ruthless outlaw shows up, causing a major disarray among the citizens who now have to arm up to defend themselves and their land.
Fool Me Once (2024)
Officially one of Netflix’s most-watched English-language shows, the thriller miniseries is based on Harlan Coben’s 2016 hit novel of the same name, following a young woman seeking answers after finding out that her presumably dead husband is actually alive.
As she starts getting pieces together, the viewer can’t help but stay hooked until the very end which, in its turn, reveals a shocking truth about the couple’s relationship.
Despite Netflix having established a good deal with Coben about some more adaptations, Fool Me Once remains the biggest and most brightly shining gem.
Midnight Mass (2021)
Another horror story from Stephen King ’s frequent collaborator Mike Flanagan, Midnight Mass is as profound and as personal for Flanagan himself as it could ever be.
With lots of experience of working on King’s hit stories, the director explores something of his own, delving into mysterious events in a small town when a new young priest arrives there.
Flanagan’s vision leaves both narrative and horror elements on equal terms, making Midnight Mass one of the most compelling projects he’s ever worked on.
Baby Reindeer ( 2024)
A black comedy thriller that scooped a handful of major awards just last year, Baby Reindeer is probably one of the best miniseries released in the past several years.
Adapted from Richard Gadd’s one-man show, the series stars Gadd as Donny Dunn, an aspiring comedian whose kindness and generosity once backfires when he becomes a target for a lonely woman.
Baby Reindeer came as a bombshell last year, joining the list of other series speaking up about a different and most of the time ignored side of many actual problems the society deals with.
