Let them cook!

While we were eagerly waiting for the new season of The Bear, it turned out to be disappointing, as the show’s dynamics is ruined by its slow pace and a ton of flashbacks.

Luckily, there are still some must-see movies and series about food and those who are serving it for us, with 5 of them being enlisted here.

  1. Boiling Point (2021)

First comes a one-shot film set in one kitchen, and it’s really made the way it leaves you stunned. Its plot revolves around a chef who is hurrying to get his restaurant ready for a very decisive night when seats are reserved by extremely important guests.

  1. Sweetbitter (2018 - 2019)

Starring the Fallout star Ella Purnell, this drama show focuses on a young woman who takes up a job at a celebrated restaurant in NYC. However, her career is about to be disturbed by the joys of the big city: bars, drugs and, of course, intricate romances.

  1. Chef (2014)

By mixing elements of drama, comedy and road movies, this must-watch tells the story of a chef who quits his job at a prestigious restaurant and buys a food truck. The film features the contrasting environments of the food industry and the struggles it brings.

  1. Feed the Beast (2016)

If you enjoyed the tense atmosphere of The Bear, try watching this series. Starring Friends’ David Schwimmer and Cloud Atlas’ Jim Sturgess, it follows best friends who try to open an upscale restaurant in the Bronx and to come clean out of the mobs’ games.

  1. Julie & Julia (2009)

Finally, we have Meryl Streep and Amy Adams’ take on cooking, as here they portrayed a young chef and an experienced food master, who inspires millions of housewives to try her recipes. It appears to be a touching dramedy that will uplift your spirits.
