DC fans surely deserve more good news at this point.

So we have Harrison Ford joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. We have Henry Cavill returning to the DCU as Superman for Man of Steel.

And we've also learned that Keiko Agena, the actress best known for playing Lane Kim on Gilmore Girls, is joining the Hollywood A-listers as a superhero character in the fourth season of DCU's Doom Patrol.

Keiko made the revelation during an Ask-Me-Anything session on Reddit.

The actress held her Q&A in the r/GilmoreGirls subreddit, where fans of the show asked Keiko about her Gilmore Girls character and the filming process. When Keiko said that she would be playing "a fun character in season four" in Doom Patrol, redditors reacted with joy.

"I just gasped from excitement!" said one of the fans, with the rest joining in the chorus, saying they literally can't wait to see her on the show.

However, who Keiko will inhabit in the series has remained a secret – but not for long, as Season 4 of Doom Patrol will debut on December 8 with the release of two episodes on HBO Max.

Doom Patrol is an American television series premiered back in 2019. It tells the story of a team of superheroes who got their powers through tragic circumstances. The main characters are Larry Trainer or Negative Man (Matt Bomer), Cliff Steele or Robotman (Brendan Fraser/Riley Shanahan), Rita Farr or Elasti-girl (April Bowlby) and Jane aka Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero).

The series is not what you would normally expect from a superhero show. The creators have made the lives of the characters the focus of the show. The emphasis is on who they are and what kind of lives they have to leave behind. It is about acceptance.

The series, created by Jeremy Carver, are based on DC Comics and are extremely popular with DCU fans. They believe that Doom Patrol is the best live-action content that DC has put out in years. One of the strengths of the show is that it respects the spirit of the comic book and is as touching and heartbreaking as it is hilarious.

"I've never seen anything from the DC Universe that was this funny and well written," said one commenter on Reddit. The show is a true A-grader. The first two seasons enjoy a 96% and 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while Season 3 got the 100% thumbs up. No wonder the show has been renewed for Season 4.

The Doom Patrol series is available on HBO Max.
